Before I buy this do you have to use this with any stupid launchers? Or can I just launch from Steam directly? TIA!

I don't game much, so I'm not sure if this is a dumb question. When this says "Steamdeck compatible", does that mean I can play this through Steam online even if I'm using Mac?

No, a Steam Deck is a portable gaming PC that runs a custom Linux operating system. It can play many windows games, but not all, using a special way of running that software. I don't think you'll be able to play this on a Mac - at least not in the way you're thinking.

I loved my experience playing and beating Mirror's Edge (in 2013) so much that I purchased the game 3 times: on Origin (before it became the EA app), on GOG, and on Steam. Catalyst was such a disappoint, however, I bought it when it went on sale on Origin.

Judging by the warnings on the Steam pages, the first game only says "requires agreement to 3rd party EULA", but the sequel says "EA on-line activation and Origin client software installation and background use required. Requires 3rd-Party Account: EA Account (Supports Linking to Steam Account)"

His question is valid, both are running on unix based operating systems. I think he is trying to gauge if you can play mirrors edge on mac and if steamlink will work it.. the answer nealnealneal, is still no, not out of the box: there is methods to play the game on mac you will have to google, the games not worth the hassle tbh. steamlink can broadcast your desktop, not just fullscreen games.. you can play origin games through steamlink..

I think we have different interpretations of what the poster might have meant. I assumed they didn't know much about Steam's offerings given they said they don't game much, and perhaps there would be a cloud-like offering for them to stream the game to a device. I was clarifying that isn't what this deal meant, and I don't know what their potential appetite could be for tinkering with these things.

The first one was so good. While it may have seemed like a good idea, the open world design of Catalyst was just not it.

Please please please get it. It's one of those life changing games for a generation. Check out how active is r/mirrorsedge and see the cult following after 15 years of launch.
