I don't understand all of the excitement with these battery systems. Based on the capacity, they will run a house for a few hours before they are dead. I read where they are a good portable power but at 130 pounds, it really is not something you throw into your SUV and haul to the beach.

These are to run critical loads during an outage, not an entire house.
They are on wheels to move semi-easier.
These are meant to be hybrid that can run some large loads and can also be taken with you for camping.

research time-of-use (TOU) rates. store up energy in these units during off-peak hours when electricity rates are lower, and then run your house off batteries during peak hours when rates are higher.

others have enough solar panels to charge these things and greatly reduce their energy bill.

some live in areas with frequent power outages, and only need to run their house for several hours at a time, and not days on end.

there could be many reasons.

i have accumulated equipment over several years as my budget allowed. i currently supplement my monthly electricity usage with collected solar. This has reduced my electric bill by half. BUT, the real benefit came with hurricane Helene. I had no grid power for more than 5 days. And no problem coping due to this equipment. i use primarily Ecoflow equipment and Eco-Worthy solar panels. For me, this was never about camping or hiking trips.

Ecoflow Delta Pro and Extra battery refurb on Ecoflow Ebay store has been around $2500 with coupon. This Ecoflow combo provides 7.2kwh. However, i do like the fact that the Anker Solix has a dedicated EV outlet built in. Ecoflow DP requires a $40 accessory to be able to charge your EV.

The F3800+expansion combo shows up every now and then for $3300-3500 without solar panels.

400W of solar is underpowered for this system. With no loads on the F3800+expansion, it would take at least 3-4 sunny days to fully charge.

Depending on your daily energy needs and # of days of backup, this system is likely either too big or too small.

If you have very light energy needs (like 1 kWh per day), a single F3800 ($2100 recently) or smaller power station would be much less expensive. An Ecoflow Delta 2 Max or Pecron E2400LFP plus 400W of rigid glass solar is around $1000.

If you have larger energy needs - 2-5 kWh per day - F3800 may be a good fit but the solar kit included with this is at best substantially inadequate. Supporting larger energy needs with portable solar is possible but $$$ and a bit of a pain to setup. And unless you really want these portable panels, the F3800+BP3800 will pop up on sale for significantly less without them.

So: good deal if this fits your exact use case or you really want portable panels for one reason or another

Bad deal otherwise.
