With home repairs, sometimes we don't know what we may need, so I would buy extra things (plumbing pvc glue, extra coupling or sprinkler heads etc) knowing that I can always return. But with Lowe's if I don't make a trip for 90 days to return unused stuff. I am stuck with those items.
Home Depot doesn't have that policy! Have been using them ever since I got stuck with 10 sprinkler heads I bought at Lowe's

I just did an Uber Eats order yesterday. First I bought $100 GC from Costco for $80. Then I had a $20 off $50 promo from Uber. Used it on a store that has in-store pricing. So it's the equivalent of walking into that store with a $30 off $50 coupon. And on top of that it's delivered to my door for me, which some people value a lot higher than others.
Yes you need to have subscriptions but if you use the services often enough then it more than pays for itself in the time and hassle saved from going to the store, and there are deals that pop up where you can get these services at a discount.
Just wanted to offer a different perspective.
