Consumer Reports gives it 80/100 with excellent function/performance scores stating "This model had No performance flaws Noted." It's only brought down by expected reliability and satisfaction (likely due to a few bad years of Samsung appliances). It's definitely worth buying at this price IMHO.
If you register, you'll get a free extra year warranty too.

Induction ranges are efficient and cook rapidly. I recommend that people watch youtube videos that demonstrate induction cooking.
If I cooked more often than I do, I'd buy this range.
I used to sell appliances and Samsung wasn't my favorite brand. But this is a good price for a slide-in Induction.

If you don't have pots and pans that are made from a ferrous metal (Magnet will stick to it) you will need to purchase those. Copper, aluminum will NOT cook on this top.

It's only $100 more at costco
https://www.costco.com/samsung-6....less+steel

Buying from costco includes 2-year warranty, free delivery, installation, haul away of old appliance.

Could well be worth the $100 difference for many.

FYI. The circles on the cooktop do not accurately indicate the actual size of the burner/ magnet hob underneath it. The bigger one may have a larger magnet than the small one but it may or may not be proportional to the circle sizes. On regular electric the burner coils are to the edge of the circles. On these lower end induction stoves (under $5k) the burner is actually much smaller. On some of the larger 12" circles the magnet is only 7-8". It's not a big deal if you're not using large pans. If you have 12" or 14" pans, no matter if they're all clad or another higher end name, they will not heat evenly to the edge. Other than burner sizing, induction is better than regular electric in every other aspect.

Take a look at open box options. I found an open box excellent for $718 at the local Best Buy outlet. That sealed the deal. They are fully applicable for any extended warranties you want to add, just like brand new product.

Keep in mind that open box can mean anything from customer return to display unit and possibly even manufactured. Could have scuffs or dents (ours didn't seem to). At the price for an induction range, it's certainly worth a shot.

The appliances aren't what they use to be. I have Frigidaire flat top. Cheap stainless cover,..scratched up the 1st week and dents easily. Whirlpool fridge replaced ice maker, main computer, kitchen aid dishwasher already replaced the pump. Low profile whirlpool over the range microwave... terrible. Take 2plus minutes to heat water. All these appliance under 5years old.....
I wholeheartedly agree. We have ~ 7 year old whirlpool products and every single appliance has had to have something replaced. Fridge, range, dryer, dishwasher (this was minor but the detergent dispenser cracked from normal use). The microwave flat out stopped working but it was no longer under warranty and replacing it with the exact same open box model was cheaper than the repair...

I'm sort of at a point where I consider these things throwaway products, which is a shame, but buying every 5-7 years on a clearance deal seems like a way better deal than paying $5k+ for something higher end that may last decades (or may not).

Are Samsung ranges as bad as their refrigerators?
I've owned Samsung appliances for over a decade with zero issues. I'm using this range now. First induction range I've ever owned and I'm sold. Boils a large pot of water in a minute flat without heating up the entire kitchen. Super efficient. My only complaint is the oven temp probe doesn't really work.

No gas no deal
Gas is soooo 20th century.
Induction is the way to go. We were looking to upgrade out kitchen a couple years ago. We already have gas at the house (dryer/tankless water heater) and I was completely convince to switch to gas until I started researching induction.

Ended up buying an induction; they are more efficient that gas, heat faster, and cleaner. So glad I made that decision.

1. Induction ranges make these whining noises from the coils heating up. Very annoying.

2. Need induction compatible pans and pots ONLY.

I hated mine. Returned to Samsung.
Electric all the way.
- Not all make noise, depends on the stove and how cheap of cookware you use.
- Yes, you need ferrous metal pans (SS, cast iron), however I would hope you even a modicum of research and knew that before purchased.

(BTW, Induction ranges are electric)

Have one for 2 years, no issue.
Give it another year or two. I've replaced my induction cooktop twice on my range and it's dead again already.

the heating elements... colloquially referred to as "the burners". the heating elements on LG/Samsung ranges have a track record of failing to cycle on/off after a period of time due to failures in the logic boards. they have reliability issues over a 1 to 3 year period.

Deal ends tomorrow.

Got mine installed easy peasy. Need to figure out if I can change the timer alarms. They play this weird music.

Weird I don't see it on the CR app. Yeah 3/5 for predicted reliability isn't promising
