If you're not set on getting Ryobi, take a look at the HyperTough 20V impact wrench [walmart.com] from Walmart. It has 900 ft/lbs break away torque for $99, and has been tested by TorqueTestChannel on YT.
I've been eyeing it for a while now as a cheap impact wrench to take with me on road trips. I currently own three Dewalt 1/2" 20V impact wrenches (High, Mid, Low), and a little 3/8" 12V.

For anyone already in the Ryobi ecosystem, I'd recommend the Brushless Cordless 4-Mode 1/2 in. High Torque Impact Wrench over this. The kit with charger and battery has come up on sale for $139. It's rated for 1170 ft-lbs of breakaway torque. It got the bed bolts off my truck and everything else I've tried it on.

I have this and totally regret my purchase. One of the only ryobi products I have that is lame. It really really really struggles getting lug nuts off my jeep (110ftlb torque) and chevy express (140ftlb) torque. It'll eventually get them off if I sit there (sometimes for 10-15 seconds per lug). I've given up and break them free with a breaker bar.
Edit: FYI....that's with using the 6ah HP battery

Ordered this as I've been waiting for this model to go on sale. Perfect for working on vehicles or doing anything around the house like hanging tvs. Also it's the lightest/most compact version they make besides the 3/8" plastic model.

This model should pretty much cover everything the average homeowner would need working on their car and around the house. good price considering it's brushless and includes the battery. For those who want to work on cars besides the avg maintenance stuff, you have to go one model up and get the p262 which has 600 for pounds of breakaway force (rated), bc it will likely be closer to half that. I have the p262 and just did my timing belt and most of the front end suspension components, it had no issues breaking off the harmonic balancer bolt and wheel hub.

Keep in mind, you really shouldn't be using impacts on most consumer grade vehicles.

The '24 Toyota warranty as well as the Advanced Wheel Locks I purchased for it both say that using an impact will void the warranty.

At $150 for a set of 4 lugs, I'm not chancing it.
So how are the mechanics at toyota getting them off? I am sure they use impact guns, every mechanic (including dealers) uses them.

You're full of it, or you way, way over torqued your lugs. I have both this and the M18 1/2 Fuel impact. Yes, the M18 is much more boss without a doubt, but I've used this Ryobi on tire lugs and other bolts without an issue. My first gen M12 1/2inch fuel stubby struggles a bit more with lug nuts than this. For the money, it's great to leave in a car.

The previous deals have included a 4.0 HP battery for $150 vs the 2.0HP here deal here.

So there's a 1/4" version and a 1/2" version. What's the difference, or is there a use case where it makes a difference? I'm thinking about getting one for the once a year random case where I wish I had one, but don't know which one I would want to have.
So the 1/4" is an impact driver so uses your standard 1/4 bits. Think of it as a powerful screwdriver. Whereas the 3/8" and 1/2" are impact wrenches and use sockets to drive bolts.

If its your first, get the 1/4" since it's more versatile around the house to drive screws/bolts (with appropriate adapter) and also can drive screws into thick wood where electric screwdriver will struggle.

Thanks, appreciate your advice. I think I will go with the 1/4 (once there's a good sale on it).

I think the concern is over-tightening using impact wrenches. I've seen some tire mechanics where they just kept on driving the bolts on without checking proper manufacturer's torque specs. Some of these can have enormous torque and possibly damaging the nuts/threads/stud/wheel/etc.

I heard dealership techs have hulk-like grip and use their fingers to loosen and tighten them...

If you are talking 1/4" impact driver vs this impact gun/wrench they are totally different tools. While both have an impact hammer function, the driver is made to accept driving bits and the torque rating is substantially lower than an impact gun. By contrast, an impact gun regardless of size (commonly 1/2" but they make bigger and smaller too) is specifically designed to drive an impact socket, not bits. Impact guns are most commonly used in automotive work - although they are not truly limited to that arena, for a homeowner who is not focused on auto work a 1/4" impact driver is the more versatile tool as it more readily drives (or removes) a typical range of fasteners you are likely to encounter in home repairs, and will have a torque rating that is more appropriate for most aspects of that work.

If you don't know and aren't working on cars, go with the 1/4 driver. If you are changing lug nuts and brake pads, find a 1/2 or 3/8 gun/wrench.

I have a 10 year old basic ryobi 1/2" torque wrench and I have been taking lugs off multiple cars at home for years with ease with old batteries too. I think mine is rated at like 400 ft lbs?!? I can't imagine these newer ones with twice the power would struggle taking lugs off. Seems like you are doing something wrong if you can't take wheels torqued down to 110 like you're saying

You'll want the bigger PBLIW01 if you ever need to take off a crankshaft bolt.
