Thank you OP. If you're a dash pass member with free delivery/lower fees, it's hard to find a bad part of this deal.. somehow people still did

Naw. I have dashpass so already had that
Dashpass still has a 5% service fee on deliveries, so it's still a delivery fee even if they don't call it that. Then add on a 20% tip for the delivery. If you order $40 worth of food, the discount only covers the fees and tip.

Tips are usually close to 10 bucks. Unless you are cheap.
If I'm ordering something ~$20 within a 5 mile radius, I ain't tipping anywhere close to $10. That's just absurd.

Thanks. The coupon is a net savings overall for most if not all. For example, none of the stores I'd like to order from have as good of a discount (such as 20% up to $5), so this coupon is worth it for me. Not sure why people don't want to let others enjoy things.

Pro tip: Even though the expiration for the code is midnight, I'd suggest you to place an order as soon as you can - even if it's for a future order tonight or later this week. I've waited til dinner too many times only for the code to have been expired due to too many uses.

I would imagine at least 5 bucks. Still cheaper to pick up.

If you tip, it negates the discount.
It only negates the discount if you hadn't planned on tipping before the discount. If I had a $25 order and was tipping $5, I would have spent $30. Now I have a $15 order and still tip $5 and spent $20. That's a savings of $10.

You really need to check and be sure. I saw this and was going to use it for McDonald's because one of the kids wanted it and it's been a long time since we got it, so seemed a good opportunity.

Exact same food options and it was $44 from DoorDash after $10 off and after $5 off I get from my sapphire reserve being linked. Also have DashPass so lower fees.

Same food for pick up from McDonald's with no coupon was $32. After adding the 25% off $7 or more coupon most can get through the app it was about $27.

So nearly $20 more, even when adding my extra $5 off for DoorDash. That's with just a $4.50 tip too, even taking tip off entirely, which I would never do, it's not even hitting the pre-coupon McDonald's app price.

People don't seem to realize that DoorDash and most every delivery app increases the menu item price from what the store charges. If you are only ordering a couple things, it may not be a huge deal, but if you are ordering a good number of items like we were it adds up quick.

I don't say this to hate on the deal, I use DoorDash plenty. This is just a counter to the idea that most or even all would have a net savings here. I can't find many instances where that would be the case for restaurants around us unless I order a single item that is at least $20 with maybe only a $2 mark up from menu price. That would be worth it. But that's probably not the norm even for people just ordering for themselves.

Just be sure you check the restaurants actual menu price before you pull the trigger.

DoorDash is a scummy company. had a Dasher steal my order and marked it as delivered (without any picture of delivery, of course) and the spent 2 weeks "investigating" the situation only to refuse my refund.

luckily, PayPal was quick to refund me via charge back. PP contacted me a few weeks later after they also conducted an "investigation", and asked if I wanted to return my refund as DoorDash apparently lied to them and claimed the order was delivered.

cancelled my subscription and will never use them again. have never had such an issue with UberEats or GrubHub.

A $20 pickup order = $21.64 for me after taxes

Same order for delivery with no tip = $16.63

Gives room for a free $5 tip.

If you call the store and pick up, total will be probably $15. Doordash inflates menu prices and then adds a bunch of taxes and fees on top.
