...and their "low end" is excellent.
This is simply not true except for the most efficient of speakers begin run at low volume levels. Most AVR's are running a middling quality 35w per channel, this amp can make a huge difference as long as you have any mid-tier speakers.... and your AVR has pre-outs, which they've conveniently removed from all of the cheaper AVR's that benefit the most from it.
I own an a3 for my kef q concerto Metas and it's really good. Very happy for under 500

Does anybody know the calculations to find the wattage for a 3 channel set up using this amp?

BasX is not that great.
I have the A5175 which for some reason was better quality than the A5 to run the surrounds + heights and ended up switching the heights back to the Yamaha AVR which sounded much crisper than the A5. Sitting collecting dust now.

Hmmm… let's rein in the hyperbole (on both ends of the spectrum).
"Excellent" is a strong word.
These would be more like "decent for the money".
SNR of the bass-x series is below average and they lack relatively simpler features like temperature compensation causing poor output for the first 10 minutes while it warms up.
For most people there is no practical use to upgrade from their built in receiver amps to something like this as the benefits are not that substantial. Of course, if they don't have adequate number of channels of amplification on their receivers this amp can provide a reasonably ok means without breaking the bank.

Power Output (ALL channels driven):

• 95 watts RMS per channel; 20 Hz – 20 kHz; THD < 0.1%; into 8 Ohms

• 130 watts RMS per channel; 1 kHz; THD < 1%; into 4 Ohms

To be fair this falls under a hyperbole also.
Measurements/specs are just for capabilities not how it sounds especially universally.

I would say these are better than many of the internal power of poplar mid level AVRs on here.

I can tell you from personal experience these amps in general will drive their T&X speakers more efficiently than mid level AVRs internal amps/power imo.

Added this to the Integra DRX3.4, pretty adequate difference.

Their gen 2 xpa amps were the best with toroidal transformers.

This is actually really frustrating to me. Lower end AVRs used to have them. Now, by the time I paid up for an AVR that has preouts the internal amp in the AVR is pretty good and makes buying something like this BasX questionable.

Just get an a3:

Power Output (ALL channels driven):

• 140 watts RMS per channel; 20 Hz – 20 kHz; THD < 0.1%; into 8 Ohms

• 200 watts RMS per channel; 1 kHz; THD < 1%; into 4 Ohms

I have one and it far exceeds the rank of the "reasonably okay". Also better than "decent for the money". If you have issue with "excellent" that's fine, but don't go three or more rungs down from there and pretend that they're just "decent for the money". In the end every single thing you buy has to be judged against its cost and by that measure these are winners. Sorry if I seem salty but perhaps my temperature compensation board is malfunctioning.
