Most digital movies are MA. There are some notable exceptions, but MA movies are more common than not.

I know Studio Ghibli movies are generally hard to come by but why are most digital movies not MA anymore? Are studios pulling support for MA? Makes me want to sail the high seas again.

It's a lot less locked than other options since Apple has an app on practically every platform. Not to mention Apple gives you a free upgrade to 4K if it becomes available and you purchased/redeemed with them.

It's based on the studios themselves as to whether they want to support Movies Anywhere and actually hasn't really changed since the service launched. From the get go, most of the major Hollywood movie studios support it with the exception of ones like Paramount and Lionsgate, but I don't think I've really seen any anime have MA support. Maybe international licensing/distribution might make it more difficult or something foreign companies are less interested in.

Thanks for the reply. It just seems like lately there have been some good deals but I've passed them up since they're not MA. Some from other studios like Universal who I thought supported MA.

If a movie is not MA, I'm content if it's on Apple TV since we use it so often

Some things to note: Apple TV has been reported to have a better streaming bitrate than other streaming services. In my own anecdotal experience, these looked the best on AppleTV when compared with Max and Fandango. HOWEVER! These do not come with the Japanese audio and I've been told the Fandango ones do. I haven't confirmed that yet, but it's something to keep in mind. Also, someone else commented that AppleTV upgrades to 4k for free which is usually true but not always the case (if the distributor has changed etc.) I personally bought this deal yesterday, but that's just my two cents.

I've installed it on both Android phones and tablets, and haven't had issues.

It's not available on Android, which i think takes away a large chunk of users. Similar to Microsoft, which only allows their streaming on Xbox or Windows platforms.

I have a mix of Apple and Android products, and really dislike this limitation of having to use their website to view content instead of the app.

I have an S24 Ultra, and when I clicked on your link it said it wasn't compatible with my phone. So yes, it's still limited on Android.

Would there be a difference still between streaming these movies with an Apple TV 4K vs physical Blu-ray with a good player that upscales, like the Panasonic UB820?
