This link brought me to this item for $15.99 with a 40% coupon. Clicked on link for similar item that Amazon was suggesting, find it is the same brand and size as item in this post but price is $12.58 with 50% coupon

No. Because the pee will just dribble off the mat onto the couch or floor/carpet when you move it around or when the dog gets up.

Sure, comfort would be decreased , but wouldn't you want the outer layers to be waterproof?

Bought 2 of these due to having a large L-shaped sectional. First one was 50% off and second was regular priced, but not a bad deal at 2 for $20.

I have quite a few of these. Two each for the couch, my bed, and the dog's bed that I just swap out whenever they need to be washed. Mostly have them to catch shedding. Have had no issues with them at all - save the one that he chewed when he was a pup, but it's still in play. Just grabbed another. Thanks, OP!
