Just a heads up!

"In the pause menu, select the second option, Audio. The last two options are Enemy Chatter and Gun Chatter. Each of these have three options: None, Occasional, and Frequent"
I turned it to "Occasional" and ended up being very happy with the result. Also, I bet there is an audio slider (pretty common since 2000-ish for PC games) to adjust effects / voice / and soundtrack volume independently.
I will say the mixing of stereo audio in the game is absurd. You only hear directional sounds out of the single speaker (or earphone) 'facing' the sound in game. So if you are wearing a single earbud (and your earbuds do not do a mono output), you only hear half of the world and it changes (of course) with your movement. Very annoying and disorientating. Also no way in game to force mono either. Most games mix audio based on player orientation but you still get some audio in each ear, just more / less depending on sound direction. This might also matter if your PC speakers are not positioned pretty symmetrically in relation to the user. I ended up buying new earbuds that did mono only output if one was left in the case. I don't recall another game....ever having this all or nothing approach to directional sound. It was even weird with two earbuds in.
FWIW game plays perfectly on the Steam Deck
- Graphics: Great mix of realistic and artistic style. Colorful and fun to look at, with interesting bosses.
- Gameplay: Starts easy but gets more fun and tricky as you unlock new weapons and abilities. Combat and boss fights are engaging.
- Story: Simple and forgettable. Focuses more on humor than deep story, but keeps you moving with bounties and exploration.
- Value: Worth the price, with extra DLC for more fun. Main game has plenty to enjoy.
- Overall Impressions: Fun, lighthearted game with quirky humor. Feels like classic games and keeps you entertained for hours.
I do feel like the overly crude humor at the start felt forced, but it grows on you when you realize the game isn't taking itself super serious and just trying to offer you a good time. Maybe not worth the full retail price, but for $4.82 - it's not too bad.
