There's also now a 10% off coupon (at least for me there was) on the item page on Amazon - which brought it down to $449.99 before tax - just ordered one

Yes it seems to be a targeted coupon, I tried the mobile app and chrome on desktop but I can't seem to get the 10% coupon to appear.

You dont play on high settings if you are aiming for 240hz competitive shooters. For most games that require the 240hz, yes my 3090ti does it just fine, 4090 does it even better, and 5090 just a bit better then that.

With some games that are super easy to run yes you probably easily could Stick Out Tongue

My 4080 can hit 300-400+ fps in the games these monitors are intended for, competitive fps games

Even modern AAA games easily run at 150+

I adjust the settings as needed. Usually Shadows, Lighting, and certain common ones that tank FPS are the first that i adjust. Every game is a bit different. But if they all use the same game engine (Unreal engine 5 may take over a ton of games) then it should be the same ones.

With 4k 27 oleds coming out soon, these will drop more. The Samsung one has a list price of 900 so 1440p ones should be discontinued more.

You're wrong, super wrong, the 1440p market for gamers is bigger than the 4k. No fps gamers wants to game on a 4k monitor, it's an fps eater.
