Discount the part at the end of the video where they talk about the competition. This scooter is 2 years old in design, and even in the 2nd half of 2024, a lot of new competition has matched or bettered the Segway. At higher price points than this sale, these days there are other options like:
- the Okai Neon Ultra es40. Awesome machine for $200 more than this sale price. Whether the extra money is worth it depends on each individual's needs and usage.
- Apollo Go. Costs almost twice the price of this Segway sale, so probably not worth it for most. BUT the Go crushes hills, is loaded with the latest tech, and is damn good on its own merits.
- Vmax vx4 rides all day comfortably, and the vx2 Pro is only $100 more than the Segway
- and of course have to mention Voro motors lineup, and in particular the Emove Cruiser S (and since if you wanna splurge hard, the Cruiser v2). Long-range kings, great bang-for-the-buck, and highly customizable while still being damn good stock out the box.
Again, for the $600 though, the Segway is great even if I'd probably spend the extra 2 bills to buy the Okai es40 (in blue for better visibility to other people).
Last thing: if you're gonna ride over ~10mph, wear a helmet! Death by scooter is a silly way to go, and easily minimized with head protection.

I've ridden it on bumpy dirt track not big boulders or anything. It does a pretty good job. Enough grunt to pull hard and spin wheels. It's very controlled when you limit the speeds in the sports mode (weird I know). And it's very comfortable cos of the suspension.
I do, but I never leave mine outside. I ride it to work and back, leave it in the employee area. When I stop by grocery stores, I bring it inside and park.

I'm 210lb and had a similar spec TurboAnt. Would do 19mph flat but only 5-8mph up small hills. I was much happier when I bought a Laotie scooter with 2x1000W motors!
The only downsides is the internal charger will die eventually and you'll have to use an external charger, and the rear mud fender is pretty poorly made and will likely break over time.
Otherwise it's rock-solid and I've had mine for nearly 3000 miles. It's great commuting to an office job and back.
I even ride it in the snow and it handles great!
