I still have a bottle of the spray version, but this price is very tempting.

My wife likes the spray (to keep it off her hands) but I LOVE the lotion. Much better more consistent and thorough application, less "wet" feeling, no waste, and no breathing in chemicals.

I swear by DEET, and don't settle for less than 40% where I am... however, I haven't heard about this much, and after a bit of research I'll give it a shot. Should be equally effective as DEET 20%, which doesn't meet my cut, but the potential to repel more flies and mosquitoes than DEET is intriguing. (Plus not melting my plastics is an added bonus).

I was a LONG time Deep Woods users and changed due to how it melts plastics. Picardin works from a bug repellent standpoint and the best of all, it is not greasy at all!

Negative... it would have to be placed in the checked luggage, not carry-on. The limit for carry-on is 100ml per container and it has to be in a clear plastic container about the size of a sandwich-sized bag

If you ever have to deal with noseeums, picaridin based products are the one thing that actually works to keep them from biting.

DEET destroys all the coatings on my hunting and fishing gear, boat parts, tools, etc. The amount of damage it has done to my possessions makes it too expensive to keep around. It took a long time to figure out it was the OFF! slowly eating away the plastics of everything I touched, but it was.

I spent years just swatting at bugs after sorting it out, and have been very happy since picaradin came on the scene in an accessible way.

If you have TSA Pre, you don't need to do the clear plastic bag thing, and yes, 4 oz is about 25% bigger than what's technically allowed, but if you try it there's a decent chance this wouldn't get pulled. I've accidentally taken bigger liquids through security without getting flagged.
That being said, I also buy the Ranger Ready brand 20% picardin for this reason. I like Sawyer lotion better, but Ranger Ready sells 100g pump spray bottles.

My garden is a nightmare in mid summer. But I put picardin lotion on my hands and face and stay out there from morning till night without getting bothered.

I recommended it to a friend with an autistic kid who screamed holy hell when she'd try to spray him with DEET, so he would just spend all summer with bug bites. She said it was a miracle. He lets her put this on him like sunscreen and he's happy as a clam and doesn't get bites anymore.

The combo of treating your clothes with permethrin + this picaridin is as good as it gets for me when camping in the deep woods. I love not having to rely on deet anymore. Great deal.
