No, the maker of the OSs foldable phone works better with the apps.
Yes.Google's Android OS running on a Google Pixel Fold displayed apps including non Google apps better.
The AliExpress app is one example that I remember.
It doesn't matter to me whether it's a Samsung or Google product; I'm only telling you my experience with both devices. it's possible that Samsung has sinc fixed the problem. I don't know because I don't have a Z-fold anymore.

ebay is by fast the worst place to buy any electronics purchased over 5 macbooks. from people way above 100k 4.9 ratings. and it was the worst nightmare.
Is it like that recently? I have been buying laptops, headphones, portable hard drive etc. from eBay and nothing wrong with them whatsoever. I'm in fact typing this using my refurbished Surface Laptop 3 from eBay,

It's positively awful. Bought a refurbished laptop and we've been back and forth for almost 6 months. It's like a $200 laptop. Absolute joke.
What laptop is this?

Samsung giving $1,000 trade in value for Fold 4. Just sayin.
Towards what? I'm seeing $500 for trading it in for the S25 Ultra.

Stay absolutely away from this model

I purchased the ZF4 when it first came out and the hinge wore out twice. Both under warranty. Luckily it was fixed and after the 2nd repair I traded it in. After 4 generation of this phone and they can't figure it out. I hope the 5th and 6th model has improved but the 4th gen is a complete disaster.

Bought from this seller before.
Sent me a phone with poor quality aftermarket display. When I returned the phone they claimed the box I sent was empty. After I pushed back they said "oh sorry the box isn't empty. You sent us a different phone". Very shady tactics and I don't know why a larger eBay seller would try to pull petty scams. I had to go through eBay for a refund.

I bought this brand new on aug 2022. The hinge failed on may 2023 (8 months later) and it was under warranty so they replaced the whole panel which would've cost me $800 wo warranty. 5 months later, the hinge failed again! I sold it like that and never ever again buy a fold phone. The technology is not there so don't waste your money on such thing.

I would strongly warn against buying a refurb Samsung Fold. Once the screen goes, and it will -- mine broke 3 times in 2 years -- the repair cost will be over $600.
In my household, I had 4x Fold 3, all of them had inner screen protector come off but other than that, no real issues.
My youngest son still uses his Fold 3 but his screen was replaced (for free) after UbreakIfix botched his inner screen protector replacement. My older son and I used Fold 3 until just couple of months ago (full 3 years) and had no issues other than mine showing some signs of battery degradation. (We both traded it in for fold 6)
My wife's fold 3 developed an issue of hinge not fully opening after 2 years. it would open like 175degrees, not quite fully open, but this happened after she dropped her phone so I do not really fault Samsung. She traded it in for Fold 5.
Really, at least for Fold 3, we haven't had any issues in our household with inner folding screen. When my wife fell from her bike, the fold 5 was literally flung out (it was mounted on her bike) right on to the paved road and it still has no issues.

So, in my limited experiences (7x folding phones in the family so far), the fold screen isn't THAT much more prone to breaking than any other phones (if anything, IMHO hinge is the weak point) and the phones tend to have shorter duty cycle anyways - 3 years is what I give though I think it is going to get longer and longer just like the laptops.

Anyone has experience with the allstate warranty in terms of how easy it is to claim if the phone break? I used to have a Fold 4 and the inner screen just go all black. Apparently a well known issue with the Fold 4.
Yes recently bought Z flip 4 for my wife, the screen malfunction and sent the phone for screen replacement and All-State fixed with no issues in less than 2 weeks.
