I've had good luck with the bootleg Lego. I was about to pull the trigger on a Voltron from AliExpress for $60 but the tariffs made me nervous.

It looks like it was this price for quite awhile until they jacked the price up during the holidays. Not sure I'd consider this a slickdeal yet, maybe if it hits 30% off.

The quality is good. It's just plastic you can always modify bricks with little pair of pliers if there's not enough tension for the technic pieces and things like that. I actually think it makes it more fun personally.

I've bought a few off of AliExpress. I've never had a problem. I got Voltron, London, and the DeLoreon from Back To The Future. All were good quality.

Sorry didn't build it yet but reviews are good on it. Also I have built other Aliexpress sets and while they aren't perfect, they are way cheaper then actual Lego. I would recommend them for the price.
