I have a Sunbeam electric blanket that has WiFi. It's somewhat of a gimmick. If you turn it on with the App and turn it higher than I think level 4 you have to go hit the control keypad within a certain amount of time or it turns down below level 4. So you might as well turn it on and set it at the level you want from the start with the keypad.

I have a Sunbeam electric blanket that has WiFi. It's somewhat of a gimmick. while i do think having wifi is stupid on a heated blanket, this feature is actually smart

there are many people out there who have burn marks as well as "toasted skin syndrome" (look it up, it's real) from overusing these things - but more so heated pads

I assume it's like "Alexa, turn on blanket" so it's nice and toasty when you go to bed. I get what you mean though. I won't buy any smart appliances for that reason.

The manufacture, Sunbeam, would have to update the apps in Apple/Google stores constantly for years to support this. They won't, so in three or four years, you won't be able to use WiFi anyway.

I have the queen version of this, I highly recommend it! I love the wifi aspect, I set it up one time when I first bought it, for it turn on a couple hours before I usually go to bed and then turn off a couple hours after that and it's awesome. It just works. I assume it uses onboard memory once it's set up in the app because I don't even have the app installed anymore since that was 2 phones ago. Going to get another for my husband's side, thanks!

Get a heating pad with an auto shut off and put it at the foot of the bed, under the sheet. It's wonderful for those of us who are cold.

There's a comment on this thread that says Sunbeam stuff works even better with the Smart Life (or tuya, i use SL) app, which gets updates. I ordered a couple of the other post's Mattress pads and I'm excited to put it on my kids' beds with a "if outside temp <32F, heat from just-before-bedtime to just-after-bedtime" to take the chill out of their beds when it gets really cold outside.

While the idea of a smart blanket you use on the couch sounds silly, it's more versitile than the mattress pad I just bought. You can use it on the couch when it's just you, then lay it on a guest bed when guests stay over to pre-heat their bed.

Sure, but that implies it has to be plugged in continuously. I'm not a fan of that idea, especially if something triggers it, as I've encountered some nuisance triggers on other IoT devices, like lights.
