My thoughts: This is almost certainly old stock. It has the MICRO USB connector. The new ones have USB C connectors. Also, this one (SP40) has the XPL "pebbly" reflector, making it more of a spread-type, flood beam that is not as focused as the polished, super smooth reflector, the LH351D, as on the SP40A. In addition, other similar type lights have interchangeable batteries, where one can swap out the rechargeable with AAs. This is very useful when out in the bush, etc where you don't have access to, or want to carry, a charger. Having the ability to throw in universally available AAs is a very good feature since carrying around a power bank and cable is not as convenient in a crunch. Anyone out hunting, etc carries backup batteries. Adding a power bank and cable to your travel kit is not nearly as convenient, let alone fast. It is not reasonable to use this with a power bank in a crunch (if even possible).

Yes. You may find the phrase "regulated driver" also being used by companies when referring to their buck and boost drivers.
While I understand that Sofirn is a known flashlight brand, how does the number of comments relate to the content of this comment?
Very likely to be a competitor of Sofirn or a troll. Not trustworthy

It is not reasonable or sensible at all to carry AAs for 18650 devices. Packaged AAs can not be recharged in the car when driving as I do with my 18650s and you need more to get the same voltage. They also end up costing much more in the long run while offering less performance.
I'd think any outdoorsman would know that. I gave up on alkaline ages ago. 18650 and lithiums in general have made all outdoor activities much easier and I can carry less. I can also field charge them if I am near anything with battery and that is not something you can do with AA. I rigged my kayak depth finder battery up to do just such. You have to get out of that old tech world.
The IF24 is one of my favorite little flashlights, very neat design. All the ones I have are usb-c charging, but im surprised more people don't have tons of micros laying around, I'd guess I have 50 of those cables in a box lol.
Since you are a flashlight nerd, can you or anyone else recommend a reputable place to get 18650s any reasonable price? It really seems like a crapshoot went out there looking without recommendations. Thank you!

https://liionwholesale.
It's an anduril 2.0 light with a ton of features for the price. There are instructions to perform a reset by holding the switch and unscrewing/tightening the base, so it's quite obviously a replaceable battery.
People need to post less and/or research more.
I reused the plastic adjusting buckles and rubber light holder, and stitched a replacement headband/strap from this. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Dritz-.../49606956?
A loop around the center post of the buckle.
Thread from inside to outside on light holder.
Thread back thru adjusting buckle from inside to inside, wrapping over center post.
Finish with a loop over opposite side of light holder (or headband if stitching top strap).
FWIW I love this elastic. I use it all the time to add extra loops and attachment points to tool bags and soft cases. The rubber is more exposed on it than a standard headlamp band, so it's extra grippy. Handy for keeping your light in place without much tension.
Pocket clip and magnetic tail cap are super handy when using without the headstrap.
The USB charging on these is nice for keeping one in a car, I'll charge it in the car after I use it
