You need at least S23 series. S22 has poor battery and gets toasty under load. Performance isn't an issue with the S22. I had the S22U before upgrading 2 years ago. Cameras are fairly similar, with most of the ultras being garbage at capturing moving objects.

Software is meh. OneUI on Android 12, 13, 14 and 15 are pretty similar. Latest version doubles down on AI junk. Security patches are what to look out for.

Theme S22U is a great phone. I just upgraded to the S25U from the S22U and the only benefit I've seen outside of "ai" is the battery life on the s25u

The s22u has 10x zoom va 5x on s25u, Bluetooth spen that s25 doesn't, super slow mo that s25 doesn't, and a curved screen which I prefer.

The s25 has better specs but it's not noticeable improvements imo.

i had this phone many years ago.. it was pretty good but OnePlus 11/12 destroys it.

I might have been lucky but mine lasted a whole day (8am to 5pm with about 20% to 15% left) except a few times I was using it constantly. Keep the display mode to FHD+ (middle option) and it may last a day. That being said these are used/refurbished units so I'm not expecting new phone quality.

I had to relace an s23u that I lost. Got this since it was cheaper and while Woots return policy was still good it stopped recognizing the SIM card. Returned it and got another s23u. Looked it up and apparently I wasn't the only one.
