i own this. one advantage is that it came with both alligator clips AND a very handy OBD2 connector. the OBD2 allows charge thru OBD2 port as an option.
I don't see anywhere on the product page that shows it includes odb2 charging adapter...

Edit: I decided to purchase anyway and just received the unit, and it did come with an ODBII adapter. you were absolutely right FairWinter. Thank you!
This is not correct, solar panels not exposed to light most definitely USE electricity, also most of these have status lights or other circuits that use electricity. If the panel isn't working right to create electricity (or isn't exposed to enough light during the day) it's definitely possible for it to drain a battery. Better/industrial systems have controllers that shut the panels off at night so they aren't using power out of the storage system.

Was just litterally looking at this one a couple days ago, and thought for 30$ not worth it. But for 15 now you're talking. Have a sitting car that I can't risk having a dead battery on

Bought one.....We'll see how it tests, not liking the review that says that it "Actually uses more energy than it makes. Would only recommend if you are trying to cycle drain your batteries before the warranty is up".

Can you check that again? According to the review AI on Amazon "This solar charger maintainer is designed to keep 12V batteries charged, but it does not support OBD2 connectivity or provide any OBD2 functionality."
However the reviews are all pretty dang good especially from the reviewers who seem to know what they're talking about. 15 bucks, seems worth it.

Any idea how efficient this would be in a shaded area? I'd love to have power to my boat but it's pretty well shaded and I don't know if this would put out any juice. Not looking for too much just to keep them topped off when it sits.

Fakespot Adjusted Rating is an "F" due to
Insufficient reliable reviews, so I wouldn't trust any of the 100 whatever reviews.

I just bought the 5W to keep my car that I never drive topped off. Now I'm worried about this. Can anyone test it to see how much energy it actually uses?

Bought one recently. Works really, really well. Super fast charging, brought my dead battery to life. Accidentally touched the positive clip and had a little shock just from it sitting on the dash as I was hooking stuff up. 😅
Not sure how someone gets shocked by a 12v panel

Try touching your tongue on the two terminals of a 9 volt battery

I would ignore that review because that's simply not possible with solar lol. Power is one way.

Unless they connected it backwards. OR they didn't remove the plastic wrapping from the metal tongs and the battery drained because it didn't get power. I had a sibling replace his car battery and his car wouldn't start because he didn't remove the plastic from the battery terminals. There's lots of people like this out there.
