For reference where I live, a dual axis tracking 18kw system is estimated to produce 34,700kwh/year. A fixed ground mount 18kw system is estimated to produce 24,800kwh/year.

Can I mount a gold statue of myself on top of it so it will always face the sun?

When the gear set breaks just treat it the same as stationary panels. Find the best angle and leave it for the next 25 years or longer.

That is exactly their intended function

Always an issue with me: Panel warranty are typically 25 years. Tracker warranty is 1 year. How long can I really expect this thing to last?

I wonder how long this will last in areas with strong winds.

Would I get more power out of adding these to existing panels or spending the $500 to buy more panels to add to the system instead?

Also consider the clearance you need for rotation to not cause a collision with a nearby panel - meaning you have less coverage of your surface with actual solar panels.

You need to ensure that there's enough clearance that a failed unit doesn't cause the neighboring units to collide with it

The ROI on this seems to be really tricky to justify.

How am I suppose to use this as a sun dial if it's moving?

(jokes aside) In college a professor showed you get 50% more power out of a tracker than a stationary. Its a big deal for cost effective deployments.

Put the sundial ON this and set it to 5pm. Then it is 5 o'clock as much as possible!

Not long, one of the actuator motors on mine broke within a year, however they are fairly cheap and easy to replace.
I think the metal part of it is pretty indestructible, your panels would probably blow away before the metal bends.

Annoyingly, I ordered 2 and got two different versions. Eco-Worthy just slaps its name on anything. Ordered 10 panels from them same model and got 3 different versions (including different physical panel size) just something to keep in mind. The stuff is cheap though.

I looked into these at one point but IIRC the wind limit was something like38MPH anything above that and they recomend you disassemble it !!! Nope ground mounting and spending the $480 on more panels is the way to go . Ground mount also for low maintaince.
