I just bought the River 3 Plus for the same reason and was surprised to find in the instructions to drain the battery once every 3 months since it is advertised as a UPS. Definitely an inconvenience I hadn't planned for. And the instructions say to do it to maintain warrantied battery life so I'm sure they log it and could use it as an excuse to deny a claim in the future.

Just keep in mind that if you are open to buying from EcoFlow's store on Temu (that has EcoFlow ship it to you directly, Temu isn't in the middle), then pricing for new is right around there and often you can get the Plus new at near that price (typically $140-$150). I may have become an addict and bought five River 3 Pluses (and one extra battery) in the past 60 days.

Back again.

I bought one the first time around. It is fine fit what it is. Looked brand new. Nice that it comes with the car cord And solar cord. I plan to use the car cord with my Jackery as I already have the proper adapter to connect to the Jackery port.

Just keep in mind that if you are open to buying from EcoFlow's store on Temu (that has EcoFlow ship it to you directly, Temu isn't in the middle), then pricing for new is right around there and often you can get the Plus new at near that price (typically $140-$150). I may have become an addict and bought five River 3 Pluses (and one extra battery) in the past 60 days.

I'm not seeing it at that price. Is this for new temu users or a coupon?

Both. They routinely give $20-$30 coupons after clicking through their ads or playing their Farmland or Fishland games. That said, I bought twice when it was listed at $160 (I had a $20 coupon once, $30 the other time bringing it to $130-$140). $133 for the River 3 (non-plus) without a coupon right now.

These are getting cheap. And this one is even advertised as UPS capable. Would this work if left plugged in and on "forever" like a normal ups, or do the batteries need replacing in 2-3 years like the lead acids? I know lithium ion doesnt like to stay fully charged 100% of the time, but nor sure about the lipo's etc.

This was what I wanted to do, this is a downside but typical of lithium ion to cycle it once in a while.

I'm totally naieve about these chargers. Is the 100 watts "start up" watts or after the appliance is running? In other words, a surge happens on any appliance start up such as a chest freezer. Will this be able to power the freezer that runs below 100 watts after it starts? Or will the watts required for power-up be too much for the EcoFlow?
