E85 = 15% ethanol dilution.

Ethanol gums up engines - this is why typical gasoline since the 2000s will brick your lawnmower - need to take apart carburetor and clean to get working again.

Using ethanol free gas (usually available at Sheets, Wawa, etc) is best for vehicles, lawnmowers, and everything else. Better MPG as well because gasoline is more energy dense than ethanol.

Ethanol is the reason engines need these cleaners in the first place.

Ethanol is to engines what high fructose corn syrup is to the human body; they both come from corn, heavily subsidized by our tax dollars.

It might. I'd skip it.
But, you may need evaporator cleaner as cheap try to fix the code.
If it will not address the issue then look for O2 sensors, likely to be replaced. You need to check for both before and after O2 sensors via OBD2 to see which one isn't good.
And the worst case CAT converter replacement.
If above are unknown for you then talk to trusted mechanic.

If you have high mileage stick with the high mileage blend. It may be weaker in the comparison charts but you want to clean more slowly if your gunked up with deposits.

Also if you use top tier gas then the cleaners/detergent should already be cleaning all the deposits out.

Been answered a couple times, fuel injector cleaner is less potent than fuel system.

FI cleaner is best used if you have bad gas or regularly get condensation in your injectors.

Fuel system cleaner is best when you throw a code or once per oil change, preferably letting it go through near the end of your oil life cycle.

Definitely not, however check for exhaust leaks. I drove with that code for over a year and thought I needed a new Catalytic converter for sure until mechanic found and fixed a small exhaust leak I didn't even realize I had.

Good answer. If no exhaust leaks, evaluate the O2 sensors next.

Snake oil.
It isn't snake oil. It's for keeping injectors clean, not magically cleaning them out. I use Techron and Heet to remove water every 6 months in my cars and have been for 32 years. I never have a fuel system issue, ever.

It's only "needed" if you have a problem. It can be a layer of prevention from a clogged injector and some sensors. How much protection is impossible to really say.I use it on the last fill up before each oil change. That way debris go into the oil about to be changed. I live in CA where we have extreme fuel standards. My injectors have still clogged up. People cheat, stations sometimes get bad gas. Water can form. It happens.
I disagree. I see Techron as what it is, an addictive that keeps injectors from building up deposits. If you use cheap gas, Techron will absolutely help keep them from getting crud buildup. If you use Shell premium, I would just use Heet every 6 months to remove water. And all fuel systems accumulate water unless you remove it.

i rather take my injectors off, 3d print a tpu (rubber like) adapter for the carburetor ($3.49) cleaner hose to injector, connect each to 12v source, and direct clean them instead.... under $5. and you will know for sure the spray pattern is good. While you have them out, take the ohms reading for all of them. ie, in my corolla they all read 14.1 ohms.
Yeah because we all have time or desire to remove our fuel injectors.

Snake oil.

You're completely wrong: I think that snake oil in the tank is much more likely to clean fuel injectors.

Don't get the cheap 02 sensors either. I went through hell fixing everything after the cheap ones didn't work but assumed they did. From coils to sparks, I was about to do the cat convertor until I was told it was the 02. Since then car works perfect.

Your sequence of events isn't uncommon.

That's one of the better comments here and probably an accurate cause and effect observation. The Polyetheramine in this stuff is actually a very good solvent for "varnish" deposits left in fuel tanks from old gasoline. Those deposits likely interfered with the function of the float in your sending unit.
