Seems like Simple Choice does qualify and gets you up to $500 trade in value.
Unfortunately t mobile charges $30 extra on phones (apple sells ip16 for 800 and t mobile for 830.
T mobile also asked for $35 connection charge.
This extra $65 surcharge makes it less appealing ☹️

OP states that "any 16 series..." so I guess it also applies to Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max. Confused
Yes, correct.

On the Pro Max product page, tap promotions, the same offer is listed.

This is the offer I called in for tonight. It took a minute to work out, I'm paying $90 to break my current EIP for a IP14PM and they're reimbursing me their half of the remaining $180 balance in bill credit. But I'm getting a IP16PM with paying sales tax now and placing everything above the $1000 credit on a new EIP. Apparently I'm switching from Go5GPlus to Go5GNext, I have no idea what any of this means but as long as my bill stays <$100 I'll be a happy camper. Thank you for sharing
Are you single line, because it would cost me $130/mo more to switch to go5g next military from my current magenta plan.

Most are but there were exceptions. At least one of the retirement program promo did allow more than 4 per account.

the ending of bill credits for early payoff makes this essentially a nonstarter for me. I'd be locked into a phone for the next two years like it's the contract era.
You were locked into a 2 year contract even before the ending of the bill credits for early payoff. I know there are other drawbacks of the ending of the bill credit but just saying the 2 year contract was there before regardless.

YAWN, getting pretty damn tired of T-Mobile crapping all over those with older grandfathered plans. Fixing to drop them and go with a different carrier that WANTS/NEEDS my business.

Howdy SD Community! I have been with ATT since PacBell days… 1993 I think. Currently paying $199 for 5 unlimited phone plans and 1 watch on a legacy FAN account that serves us well. Never wanted to switch due to rock solid coverage where we live/work/travel. With the announcement of Starlink satellite filling the gaps is T-Mobile going to offer the same or better coverage at a lower price, is now the time to switch? 4 out 5 phones need upgrades and ATT isn't offering me any great deals for new iPhones. Maybe the SE coming next week will change that. My question to the community is: is it worth jumping ship to T-Mobile with their new coverage model and this new iPhone offer?

TIA

Right now is probably not the best time. Especially if you are happy where you're at. Let Starlink come out fully and by that time there will probably be similar offers on newer phones.

I remembered they have this deal for most of the plan back in early December. It is even better than this
If it requires adding a line then it is nothing special. Great deals are always had on adding a line or switching carriers.

Thanks for the insight! Problem is I need one phone upgraded now. My sons IP11 is barely holding a charge.

Let's say you got a phone after July 2024 and want to trade in that phone. What's stopping you from just trading in the phone and continue to pay the EIP? Trade ins typically go to a third party company to be refurbished. Whether or not you have the phone anymore shouldn't make a big deal as long as you continue to pay your monthly EIP right?
You can trade in the phone you get. It's just that you can't get out of TMobile or change your plan for the next 24 months. If you do any of that, then the credit stops. it's very simple and strong bonding for 24 months.

I just did, $500x2 trade in for my 2 11 pros on magenta military, waived activation and $100 costco cash card in 90 days. Only downside is they do not have phones in stock so you have to wait a couple days to be mailed to you.
it's going to take longer than 90 days, mine took 4 months.

I currently have an iPhone 15 still under EIP and receiving monthly credits. I am on the One plan. Now I have an old iphone 12 which is eligible for this promotion ($500 value). If I proceed with the purchase of a new iPhone 16 to take advantage of this promotion, will i receive 2 monthly credits then, as long as I don't pay off the devices?

Anyone recommend a cheap used phone to buy and trade in for the $830 credit? iPhone 12 mini seems like cheapest for an apple.
