You can go thru Costco or Sams club if youre a member. Saves you the $35 fee and you can earn up to a $100 gift card for upgrading.

Seems like Simple Choice does qualify and gets you up to $500 trade in value.
Unfortunately t mobile charges $30 extra on phones (apple sells ip16 for 800 and t mobile for 830.
T mobile also asked for $35 connection charge.
This extra $65 surcharge makes it less appealing ☹️

Probably answered already but there's 30 pages to wade thru. Does this trade in credit work with any prepaid plans? I don't even see Magenta as a plan listed on T-Mobile.

The cost for Go5G Plus is 150$ / 3 lines. That is 50$ / lines. And per-line cost can be higher with less lines. Some other plan, at t-mobile or other carriers, is at ~30$ / line with similar service. So every month you're over paying 20$ / line. In 2 years, over payment adds up to 480$. So the winning is just 830 - 480 - tradein value (say 260$ for an iPhone 13) = 90$.

So t-mobile is paying you 90$ for you to stay with them for 2 years or 3 months free out of 24 months. And after 24 months, you need to immediately participate another similar deal, or monthly overpaid 20$ will quickly eat up the remaining 90$. And if you trade in something higher than 260$, the remaining can be less than 90$ too. So you need to be very carefully calculating to have a thin win.

That seems to be a very good deal for t-mobile... Therefore I don't understand why these kinds of deal even exist or whether there are a great number of customer participation. Enlight me with what I have missed. Thanks.

I did not read the entire thread..
Compare everything if you are going to Sams/Costco vs the web site. In December I had a great deal directly from Tmobile web site on a Pixel 9 pro + Pixel ear buds for $8.33/month for 24 months that the rep at Sams could not replicate. Even with the gift card and free activation, it was not even close. The rep mentioned they could do everything the web site had and I went through the process and they activated a new number for me and everything but when it came to the final part the deal was way different. They were on the phone for a long time trying to figure iut out and never did. I had to show them my cart from Tmobile directly and they backed everything out. I got it from the web site.

Update: just noticed this offer isn't mentioning the deal for the older plans LOL. not sure how great it is to upgrade to the more expensive plan so you might be right

This deal is for those folks with a lot of free lines on older plans and there were barely any good trade-in deals for those older plans since ghe new Go plans came out.

Tmobiles $50/month Go5G plus include unlimited hotspot with 50GB being 5g and other perks like unlimited 5g HD streaming and so on, free wifi on airlines etc. None of that is on the Verizon $30/month plan. That is roughly equal to Verizons Unlimited Ultimate which is listed as $55/line. If you have no need for a lot of that than it does not make sense but not exactly apples to apples. If just phone and basic service is all you need better off going with a prepaid or Mint or something.

If we got to Sam's or Costco, is it $100 credit per line?
Yes and yes, except not sure if it's $75 or $100. Ask your agent.

I could've went to sams club for the discount but chose a tmobile store to pick it up the right away. My last iPhone that got shipped got stolen by a fedex exmployee. IPhone box was empty when I received the package and it was a pain to get my money back.

Thanks. This helps confirming my theory that it is a deal for whom already finds the plan to be worthwhile and, on the other hand, this won't be a deal for people who are not on this plan yet but consider switching to take advantage of the bill credits.
