You can go thru Costco or Sams club if youre a member. Saves you the $35 fee and you can earn up to a $100 gift card for upgrading.

Seems like Simple Choice does qualify and gets you up to $500 trade in value.
Unfortunately t mobile charges $30 extra on phones (apple sells ip16 for 800 and t mobile for 830.
T mobile also asked for $35 connection charge.
This extra $65 surcharge makes it less appealing ☹️

No. Apple discontinued iPhone 14 and 16e will take its place. Nothing else will change price wise.

Just got this deal. Traded my 12pm for 830$ and no fee for connection. 15$ for 24 months seems a pretty solid deal.

My plan is on Magenta with 6 lines
When i checked with Costco T-mobile, the guy told me that all my magenta lines becomes Magenta plus and must pay upgrade of $15/line and might loose the current promotions i have (i pay like $120 for 6 lines on magenta)
when i said there is option called "maxup" and the guy told me that is just getting the line to use 40gb hotspot and maxup is not the same as magenta max/plus.
I am totally confused
is Maxup is same as magenta max or magenta plus and can be added only one line ?
Same for me. And I asked the question here if I move from Magenta to Go5GPlus plan, could I keep the promos. Seems like no one knows for sure or if anyone had success changing while still keeping the old promo benefits.

Thanks, I have a couple of older iPhones but decided to just trade in my iPhone 13 and old Galaxy S20+ for 2 new iPhone 16. Went to Costco after hearing how difficult it is to do it over the phone. One thing though, the $35 is not waived for existing customers and got to get some gadgets to get that credit. But cannot complain, probably last upgrade with Magenta Plus plan, will be good for the next few years.
My Costco T-Mobile rep tried pulling the same thing on me. He said the $35 waiver is only if I purchase an accessory. I argued with him for a few minutes. He called his manager on the phone who agreed to waive the fee without an accessory purchase "as a courtesy". Total scam and dick move to spring that on me at the end of the transaction and insist that is required. I will report him.

Add a MaxUp add on to Magenta to a line ($15/month) and it will qualify you for the $830 promo
The math of that doesn't add up though. You are spending 24*15 for an extra 330$ credit. You are paying and extra 30$ for this

You usually keep the insider discount and free lines but in the long run it isn't worth the extra 330$ credit you get though. Per line increase was about 15$ for me when I tried to go from my magenta to go5gplus and the extra 330$ discount doesn't offset the bump in bill i get per line.

I think it is per my math. If I can keep the insider discount and free lines, then I will end up at 120/mo for 6 lines on Go5GPlus, which is a modest bump up from my current Magenta bill. Upgrading 4 lines after plan change will get me $830 off for each line compared to $500 if I were to stay on current Magenta plan. So that would be 330x4=1320 in savings, minus the extra that I will have to pay for plan upgrade. So net saving would be around $$950.

Looks like you have a lot more free lines than me. If that's the case hope you accounted for the 30$ credit cap for the free lines that TMobile introduced a while ago. Other than that it makes sense to do a plan change in your case.

Obviously ignore if you want because of my laziness. I won't have time to parse this thread until the weekend. But I have a few questions.

I have a Costco membership and One plan, so $500 off and another $100

Where can I find details about the $100 Costco GC?

For trade in in good condition, I assume iPhone 12 with chipped glass near rear camera, or Samsung S10 that won't power on don't qualify. If in doubt, is Costco path riskier than in-store T-mobile path?

If you need an unlocked iPhone 16 from the get go, Apple / apple.com has a T-mobile financing promotion for Go5G (basic), Magenta, and Essentials plans for $500 off with upgrade, EIP, and trade-in. Similar to the promotion in this thread, except Magenta Max only gets $500. Try with your SC and One plans, they may qualify since Go5G and Essentials work. One plan does not work. It says you are require to change plan to get the promo. I would assume it would be the same for SC plans.
Does not work on my Simple Choice plan. Hoping they would add this promo for older plans later.

Is this expiring any time soon? I'd use it for my daughter who is on my plan who is away at college and won't be back for a few weeks.

Devices eligible for trade-in are different as well. iPhone SE does not qualify, for example.

supposedly a crack in the rear is fine
the s10 would have to power on.
I attached a screen shot of 3 terms for the trade in device

Is it worth trading my iPhone 13 for the 16, or hold to possibly get the 16e free after trade? They are offering $500 trade and waiving the $35 connection fee. $13 a month.
