You can go thru Costco or Sams club if youre a member. Saves you the $35 fee and you can earn up to a $100 gift card for upgrading.

Seems like Simple Choice does qualify and gets you up to $500 trade in value.
Unfortunately t mobile charges $30 extra on phones (apple sells ip16 for 800 and t mobile for 830.
T mobile also asked for $35 connection charge.
This extra $65 surcharge makes it less appealing ☹️

My Costco T-Mobile rep tried pulling the same thing on me. He said the $35 waiver is only if I purchase an accessory. I argued with him for a few minutes. He called his manager on the phone who agreed to waive the fee without an accessory purchase "as a courtesy". Total scam and dick move to spring that on me at the end of the transaction and insist that is required. I will report him.
Thanks all, I will try to reach out to T-Mobile about this and see if I can return those accessories.

Anyone knows if T-Mobile change their unlock policy? Before it is 40 days. Recently I called to unlock my phone which has been paid for 18 months and 6 months left. The CSR said it need to be paid off before ghey can unlock. If this is true then this deal need to be 24 months before the phone could be unlocked.
Previously wireless phone booth were run by third party and affiliated to Costco and that 40 day was the time period for unlocking and generally we pay full price at costco and get credits. That third party wireless booth is no longer exists and shut their business.
Current T-mobile at Costco is run by T-mobile and other than any special gift cards and most of the restrictions apply like 24 month lock etc.

I tried to upgrade thru Costco T-mobile phone and also in store. On both occasions, the representatives received an error during final order submission. I tried different cards, but none will work. So, I had to give up. I chatted with T-mobile customer service. They confirmed i am eligible for an upgrade and that the account does not have any restrictions. I never did upgrade or added any lines. I am thinkin that since my billing and shipping address are different, could that be an issue. Both customer reps (on the phone and in store) told that it is common, and they have processed many such orders with different billing and shipping addresses. Is anyone facing such issues ? It is baffling to everyone. Any pointers or help will be greatly appreciated.
It's quite possible that billing and shipping addresses have to be the same. I know for certain that that is the case with metro.

Online agent said the same thing as the in-store agent so I think it's likely all fine. Still, not having any evidence is a bit scary.

You don't need a direct link to the exact promotion for your SD post, just link to the S25. You can copy everything below (except the link, may need to get it yourself off of t-mobile.com since SD reformats links). If creating threads is not for you, I can post it and give you credit.

Does anybody have luck upgrading their plan from lets say, Magenta to Go5GPlus and still keep your Covid-era promos (like 20% off, free lines).

Reason for me asking this is - I have 5 lines to upgrade and it might be worth it overall to move to Go5GPlus, pay the difference in monthly bill, and get 830off per line for trading-in my existing phones. All of this hinges on T-mo being able to move my benefits to Go5GPlus plan.
Replying to my own post: I did chat via T-Life app and the rep confirmed that I can change to Magenta Max or Go5GPlus and still keep my insider discount and free lines. I can then get 830 off instead of 500 off which I am currently getting on my Magenta plan.

Question: Should I move to Magenta Max or Go5GPlus? I could not find the differences on T-Mo site. Basically interested in hidden/fine prints that may not be appealing in the longer run. Basically I do not want to get hit by surprise increases, because it was written as fine print.
BTW, the rep was pushing hard for me to move to Magenta Max instead of Go5GPlus. I just couldnt trust the rep's suggestion.

If you had to choose I would go with Magenta Max as your plan would be less expensive.

Have the rep breakdown each plan for you.

Also if you have free lines keep in mind you will be charged $15 per line if you switch plans.

I'm not sure if that also applies to magenta max but it definitely applies to the newer plans.

If I'm wrong someone can correct me.

Free lines remain free lines on all plans except on Go5G Next, then it's a $10 a line surcharge.

indeo, were you hit by the price increase last year? If not, then your plan has price lock and you will lose price lock if you move to another plan. If you want to get an accurate estimate of your plan prices on MM or G5G+, ask on the T-mobile subreddit with the details on your current plan.

This iPhone promotion is an exception rather the rule; Go5G Plus has more consistent phones on T-mobile promotions (at least currently until a new plan replaces it).

True, rep mentioned Magenta Max is cheaper (144 vs 150 for 2 lines, 3rd free)
Free lines --> $15 - Rep mentioned that the free lines will remain free, I get to keep them as is.

@ouloat - I had a $4 increase/line, net on bill was $8. Rest all my lines are free. So not sure if I have a price lock, probably not.

I am just trying to figure out which of the 2 plans MM or G5G+ is more customer friendly, in terms of future price hikes, fine print leading to changes, promos removed. In short, I dont want to be at T-Mo's mercy of changing things midway in my 24 month period.

I didnt quite follow the T-Mo subreddit page. Is there a link you can share?
