If they have the same deal like last year. Around March, there will be a 30% off special so the best plan is $140. Combine that with this Amex offer plus the possibility from some cash back sites and the price goes down more. After all the cash back, I got it down to ~$70 for their best plan
I'm on the $3 a month for 6 month w/ads plan. Wish they did this one more often.

The lack of new, good shows on MAX is appalling for what they charge.
It feels like they release like one show at a time. If I wasn't on a grandfathered Latin America plan, I would absolutely cancel it. All of the shows that would have been on Max 10 years ago are on AppleTV+ now.
Feels like I'll be paying $75 for the Last of Us season 2 and have nothing else to watch on there
Yeah that basically works out to be the same price as the $169 annual cost - $25 LOL $10 a month vs $12
???? That bundle comes with Max Standard is $170 a year or $145 after this $25 off. So for $120 a year you get Max Standard, Disney+ and Hulu…or just Max Standard for $145 a year.

Yeah, I think you can still get it through Rappi in Colombia for cheaper. I got the annual plan and it's almost up, but now I've got a pretty great Stremio setup so I probably won't renew. When I went to cancel, it offered a cheaper renewal FYI.
Got this last year on 21Mar24, 1yr ad free (doubt it's dolby or 4k, but I don't have 4k tv or separate speakers). Paid $104 after amex credit + CB site. I think it's been worth it.
Max is the most expensive streaming service but the quality of their catalog speaks for itself. Also, for some odd reason, they are the only streaming service I've tried that plays really nice with my 21:9 Dell monitor. None of the other services go beyond 16:9, apparently. I really like them for that because it shows that they have multiple aspect ratios of their media, not just one. But, again, their catalog has no equal and they know it.

Yes I know. I broke down the pricing when I posted. $10 a month (after the $20 AmEx bundle credit) vs $12 a month (standalone)
My sub expires March 19 just saw this offer on my AMEX Blue Cash card. When I went to go cancel, HBO gave me an option to renew for $169.99 for the premium instead of the regular $209.99. I took the offer. So $169.99 minus the $25 statement credit. Not as good as the $139.99 deal I got last year but close enough lol

Agree with most of that (especially that Apple+ is the "new" HBO in terms of amazing new, top notch content).
But Max is still kicking with White Lotus, Last of Us, GoT (both series), Watchmen (wildly underrated IMO), Scavengers Reign, Creature Commandos, Peacemaker, Station 11, Bookie, etc. Just to name some of the more recent stuff. The back catalog is still filled with gems of course.

It took 20 years for streaming companies to realize that streaming HD bandwidth is expensive
