Haven't missed PS+ Essentials. If they sell it for $30/yr I'll go back, anything more and it makes sense just to buy used games for what you want.

Agree and Im a PC gamer also, PC gaming used to be the gold standard, that was long ago, thats not the case anymore, its kind of a mess at the moment from awful ports, stuttering, to ridicoulous GPU pricing.

Gamepass is meh, have years remaining and never use it. The pc xbox interface is garbage.

PS+/premium are grossly overpriced though. Looking at the feature list of premium I never use 80% of that.

As someone who loved console gaming, the PS platform has been super regressive with its membership. So much so I game exclusively on PC as I have more sales on Steam and cross platform support with Gamepass and able to utilize by Rog Ally with both libraries. Sony releases many first party titles on PC as well.

People argue about the dumbest things. I game on PlayStation and PC, both have their advantages. Playstation just works, and has nice exclusives and that amazing controller. PC has cheaper games and more flexibility and better graphics (if your system is newer). Can't we just all get a long as gamers?

That's the reason why I'm on gamepass, they have plenty of games that i play and they also have the family plan which allows several members in family to play without having their own subscription. That beats Sony by a mile. Not to mention Xbox chat is the easiest to use across games. Hopefully Sony will improve theirs

A VPN and all the savings of not renewing gamepass will offset the ps+ premium cost in the future. Every pc gamepass release is repacked within days.

If you have an entire family or friends on one ecosystem you're more or less stuck there though.

+1 As a long time PC gamer, the price of video cards has recently bought a PS5. Maximum frame rates just aren't worth $2k to me. When "mid-range" graphics cards are $800, I'm out.

I have both. A good build pc with a 4090 and a ps5. Mostly use my pc right now. When j have the choice of the same game i get it on pc, games just look and play better (running 100fps+). I also prefer playing first person games with mouse and keyboard instead of a controller. But for exclusive and indie games I do ps5.
Gamepass is gold for me thanx to slickdeal and getting years of membership for cheap. Right now enjoying indian jones which isnt on ps5 yet, plus the 100s games they have.

Xbox Family plan? I'm aware of being able to share your account with one other person by logging in on your account on their console and setting that as your home console, how are you sharing with several other family members?

Its ridiculous how the cheapest Essential plan is $80+ tax a year now. All i need is just online multiplayer, dont need games/cloud or other "benefits" that comes with it. They should offer another plan just for that for half the price ffs.
