Is this a real deal, or was the MSRP inflated, making $499 its true value?

yes, that's right. you have to pay an extra $59 to attach a separate module to input solar, and it's capped at a measly 30 volts and 400 watts, meaning it will not work with residential size panels. i would not even buy this at $379, and the bag is not worth $50. i don't know who thumbs-upped this deal, but they are not very savvy shoppers.

The sale price of 1kWh battery banks is around $400 for most of them, the Ecoflow Delta 3 Plus doesn't seem to go below $550 it's fairly new but is probably the best for solar inputs. Depends on your needs and how you're intending to use, emergency use, camping, solar, etc. If you need to use in cold temps the Pecron E1000LFP has a built in heater.
Unfortunately almost everything here has the MSRP massively exaggerated. Don't buy refurb unless it's a great price, just not worth the risk for a small discount that most apply.

if you want to be serious with solar, and allow for future upgradeability, skip this dji unit. first off, you can't just plug in a solar panel to it. you have to shell out extra $$ for an mppt module, and it's a very gimped weak solar input.
the anker solix c1000x has been $399 (with no sales tax for most) at wellbots. a 200w solar panel, even a fold-up suitcase style, is not worth an additional $300. furthermore, the c1000x was fine at the time it was released, but is now a year and a half old. it is badly in need of an update. it only has one solar input (max 600w).
the bluetti ac180 also is old, released well over a year and a half ago. only has one solar input (max 500w).
so, i would recommend you go with something else.
i would be tempted to recommend the ecoflow delta 3 plus, as it is less than six months old, and has leapfrogged the others in a few areas of performance/features. it's really quiet compared to older models, including the anker c1000x, it charges faster than most others (1500w ac), it has two solar inputs (500w + 500w) when most others in this size class have only one. it has dual 140w usb-c ports and 6 ac outlets on the front. folks (including me) tend to really like ecoflow's app. it keeps track and graphs your solar intake by day, week, month, year, etc. the battery is rated for 4,000 cycles when most of these others are 3,000.
however, the weakest aspect of the delta 3 plus is its dc output, and you said you are a camper. i would need to know more about what you intend to use with your power station when you go camping. the delta 3 plus might have trouble starting a diesel heater, for instance. so it really depends on how you intend to use it, and what capabilities you need when you go camping.
since i assume you have to drive a ways when you go camping, being able to charge your unit at up to 800w with ecoflow's alternator charger would be useful. or, when no solar is available, you could charge your unit with the car/truck idling. depending on output of your alternator, perhaps not a full 800w, but you can use the app to choose 100w increments, like 300, 400w, 500w, etc. to match your vehicle's alternator output. or you could throw a spare 12v or 24v battery in the vehicle with you and charge your power station using the alternator charger (you don't need an alternator to use it, just a 12v or 24v battery. 48v doesn't work).
if you have an abundance of solar available, and the power station is rapidly filling up to 100% (where it won't take in any more solar if you don't have any loads running), you can use the reverse charging feature of the ecoflow alternator charger and forward that excess solar energy over into your spare 12v or 24v battery that you brought along.
the ecoflow alternator charger makes use of the expansion battery port, so it allows you to keep both your xt60i solar inputs free for solar input or some other dc input.
dji, bluetti, and pecron have come out with dc to dc (aka alternator chargers) for their units as well. some are better than others. i don't think anker has released one yet.

I do not think any other unit in this price range has as powerful of an inverter as this one. I bought one when it was $379, but $429 is still a good price for a 1KW battery unit that will run anything that you can run off a 20Amp 120volt plug at your home. I tried table saw, compressor, welder, 5HP rated shop vac, no problems with any of them. Charges fast off normal AC power.

I was bummed but glad I did the research BEFORE I was about to pull the trigger. The entire 'ad' page on AMZ doesn't make this clear that it is not a normal solar power station.

Would this be a good UPS for a 1/2HP sump pump hook up 24/7 to it for backup? Enuring the AC is always on, and if it ever depletes, will the AC ports come back on?

This is exactly what I do with my Eco Flow Delta 2. I bought another LifePO4 battery for $120 and over doubled the original capacity. have that on a tender, and have the battery connected to the Delta 2 via the solar panel port. Basically the extra LifePO4 battery will charge the Eco Flow while it's being used for the sump pump. The Eco Flow has a setting in the app to keep the AC port always active, even when not in use.
In theory this DJI should work as a UPS but without someone chiming in I'm not sure as each of these "generators" are slightly different.

The reason this interests me is the 2200w inverter over the 1800w in my delta 3 plus without the need to drop voltage like with the xboost on the ecoflow

the 1800w inverter on our delta 3 plus is underrated a bit. i was pulling 2000w on my microwave without any problem (my meter and the output on screen were an almost identical match), and Jasonoid on youtube tested the delta 3 plus and the inverter cut-off at 2349 watts. he got surge on it over 4100 watts to start-up a table saw.
the DJI does have a robust inverter, and is a very quiet unit, has 140w usb-c ports, which is all good. you can also get a cool 1000w car charger/alternator charger (proprietary to DJI like ecoflow's).
i'm just not happy with having to pay $59 to buy extra gimped solar modules that will not run residential size panels over 30 volts.
if i'm not mistaken, you can attach two solar modules to the dji power 1000, so you can hook up 800w of multiple smaller panels with two modules at $59 a piece.
i also think it is pretty lame that the DJI only has two ac outputs. the delta 3 plus has six ac outputs on the front.
i have not kept up with the DJI, but when it first came out, i don't think it even came with an app for your phone! have they since come out with an app for their power station? please advise. the app on the ecoflows are universally liked and praised.
i can see if someone has DJI drones and wants this specific brand, perhaps pay $379 and then pay extra later on if you want to do solar, but realize, with this deal for $429 with a bag, you will not be doing any solar out of the box. you will have to pay extra for the module(s) or find a combo deal with solar panel and module included.
no way would i pony up $429 for a unit that does not do solar out of the box, and i have to pony up almost $120 for two solar modules and screw them on to get 800w solar out of this thing.
for $379 it would be a better deal if DJI has developed an app for this unit, to control it remotely. you can control the ecoflow remotely, turn on and off all the inputs from your phone, program its operation etc, follow in real-time and chart your solar intake etc. from anywhere around my property or in my house.

Thanks...if that is the case, might order another delta 3 plus...they are only $540 right now

specifically $538.67 with discount code: EMAILECO14 and no sales tax for my state. i got mine even a little cheaper by contacting outbound power (also no sales tax for me) and asking them to beat the price of wellbots. they advertise that they will beat any price.

I couldn't resist the delta 2 for only $379. Hoping it will work with my pump, as I want the extra cooling on the delta 2 since the delta 3 plus seems to have weaker cooling under heavy use.

A quick search shows the MSRP from DJI themselves at 999.99
REI alternatively has the MSRP at 699.99 and sale price at 550
Others in this category are around the same sale price.
Ecoflow Delta 2 refurbished is at $360 for Presidents' Day on eBay.
I also know nothing about these so 🤷🏻 ♂️.
Unfortunately almost everything here has the MSRP massively exaggerated. Don't buy refurb unless it's a great price, just not worth the risk for a small discount that most apply.
