I have several different Wrangler pants for different roles, but I can't imagine how quickly a 96% nylon pants would make my manly bits into a sweaty jungle.

The only useful purpose (that I might buy these for) would be as an 'overpant' for walking in a torrential storm or downpour. Maybe they're popular in Seattle.

I love some of the Wrangler hiking-style pants and really prefer them over most everything else for working in. The problem with all of them is the zipper. They all fail eventually, and before I wear holes in the knees or have any other problems. I've had several pairs ruined by a cheap zipper snagging and destroying itself, so I think I have to avoid Wrangler, unfortunately. I think these are different because I want to say the other ones are a poly blend material, but looks like the same cheap zippers.

These don't appear to be meant as a rain shell, like you are describing. It's all in the density of the weave. I have Mountain Khakis that are 100% Nylon that I use for field work in spring and summer in the south. They are light, durable, relatively breathable, and dry easily. Contrast that with rain shell pants that are 100% nylon that would turn your pants into a sauna in warm conditions. Nylon is used in both situations. Factor in the elastene that these have and you have some stretchy, durable, lightweight pants. The zipper problem is another issue.

This is helpful and having me reconsider. Zipper failure is a big drawback. Maybe zipper lube can help along with light use.

Weird that it doesn't say the fabric weight like their others, it looks very thin compared to the range ones

Edit: in for 2 Big Grin
I decided I'd rather have thin stretchy pants, than thick stiff ones.

These do not do that. It's not like an umbrella. It's all about how it's constructed.

I love ATG, but the cargo pockets are in front of the thigh, not off to the side like normal. So unless you are a trucker or pilot, this might be an issue. It's definitely a bold design change.

Sizing is bigger than the other wrangler pants.
