Got this before, 5GHz stopped working after a few months.

This is a hugely popular model and wonder if you just got a lemon.
Just do an RMA.

Have a gt-ax6000 and it's fantastic. 2 years and not a quirk.

Asus can be inconsistent. Prior to gt6000, I was about to give up on Asus routers but decided one last try considering the excellent reviews from trusted sources.

If the 86u is anything like it (it is) you won't need mesh unless a giant property.

I have mine in a 2500 sq ft home with 3 floors and get great reception everywhere, even landscaping lights 100 ft away (ofc Iot utilize 2.4)

I've used this router for almost a year now and the 5ghz channel crashes very regularly. I would not recommend this router.

I bought it thru this deal but returned it. The guest network is tricky to setup - you cant use ai mesh nodes if you want to keep same subnet in guest network, wth! I've non-pro model and this was not a constraint. Disappointed!
