I have the Restnature version of this and it's been awesome for sleeping at hotels. Tiny size and the sound is loud so I don't even run it at full volume. I wish they'd sprung for a little bigger battery though, I can't get over 7 hours on the battery. If I could get 9, then I could just not leave it plugged in at night.
It's interesting what a reviewer said about charging the device while using it:
"When the USB cord is connected the machine will not allow you to turn on device. But if you turn it on and then plug it in it seems to work.- It can't be used while plugged in. You have to charge it and use it unplugged. (Although I did see another reviewer claim they found a work around for this)."
I'm unsure how that works, but I'd definitely expect to be able to use it while plugged in. If this reviewer's assessment is accurate, you'd have to unplug it, turn it on, then plug it in again. This may be cumbersome if used dailly (or nightly).
also this is commonly used in children's rooms. if you use your phone, then your phone is tied up in the kids room all night long

If it's only good for 7-8 hours I would have suggested they make it ever so slightly larger to hold a bigger battery so that it works just a tad longer. However, if you're able to simply plug it in and it runs indefinitely, it's a moot point.

Though I understand the nice for travel option, I prefer white noise from a fan (air) rather than speaker. Speaker can come off a bit grating to me. I've tried a few different speakers and I use a phone app in a pinch.
