Look for something with clamping voltage of 330 or 400V and a minimum of 2000 Joules surge protection. Items like a treadmill may be better off plugged directly into an outlet when possible.
Monoprice actually has a really good power strip

Was on sale in december for $26. Most of the ones on the market (especially name branded versions like phillips) are garbage. Amazon had a good version (amazon basics) before they cheapened out on it and removed protections. Expect to pay a minimum of $20 or so for anything worthwhile. If the manufacturer does not state the clamping voltages, they are listed on the back of the strip. The one OP posted states VPR 500V (live-neutral, live-ground, neutral-ground)
500V clamping voltage (L-G, N-G, L-N) and 1200 Joules surge protection
make this a cheap but usable surge protector. Has basic protection (more so than other SD products listed)
Do not use for any higher end appliances or computers. Use only for low power draw items

OP, how do you usually browse amazon? I am curious what makes this item stand out to you? MSRP, brand?

Paid $5.49 for a two pack on Jan 13, 2024. Obviously no time machine. Interesting to see the 50% price increase.

Was this price from Oct 23 until Oct 24, so not exactly a deal, but since they're liable to go back up due to tariffs, might as well buy a couple now.

I can't seem to find it now but when we had a treadmill we bought a highly rated single outlet surge protector. Maybe ask a gym what they use (or just look for yourself).

Its about the price of ikea 2 pack with extra features and cord length, but without the quality standard.

So a cheap solution for stuff that doesn't matter much.

APC, CyberPower, and Tripplite have equipment guarantees. Monoprice does not.

Guessing that was a coupon or something, price history sites like C3 and K are not showing any lower prices.
