Pretty low PD usb-c 20w power delivery compared to what more modern fast charging devices can take. But I guess maybe for a tv area or limited low use where slower charging is fine it's probably decent esp at this price.

This thing again.... been FP at least 3x now in the last few months. It's an entry level surge protector I wouldn't plug anything in. Get a GE branded one from Target for $5 more that actually has excellent protection.

All these "deals" on power strips with 5-foot cords are meaningless IMO.
Even 6-feet is paltry, but less than that rates a zero IMO. I rarely even consider anything with less than 6 feet, and think 8-10 feet should be a standard.
Don't get excited and jump on this because there are 5-foot strips on sale constantly.....Including some better for less....

Not a fan of 5 foot either unless I need it. I own this one and it works for where I need 5ft. I do love 3ft when I need between 1-3ft, 6ft when I need 3-6ft, etc. This is the 21st century and we can have the length we want on a truck in the matter of hours. Why tie yourself down to 8-10ft of a cord (that should be really thick at that length) if you don't need it?
I generally go for GE when possible since most other brands are crappy (Philips isn't horrible but Belkin generally is) and Tripp-Lite/APC are overpriced and their designs are antiquated. Design-wise, they can all learn something from Anker here (esp the angled aspect). And Anker, let's get a little more space in between outlets? Nothing worse than not being able to use a plug, even a standard 2-prong plug, when you are using a wall-wart in an adjacent outlet. I guess their solution was the 8-outlet.

Fair question, but I have so many strips and I find that even 6' is tight too often. Whether it's for TVs and soundbars, powering studio lights, or even in the bedroom plugging in laptop chargers, it's just too tight and inflexible. The basement is a challenge too.
I will acknowledge that newer homes *may or could* have more outlets available, but for me dealing with an old house I don't have the luxury of having an outlet every 5 feet. You'll find a lot of that in the northeast (and not just around Boston), unless it's new(er) construction or has been redone. Regardless, I'd rather deal with an extra foot (or more) of cord than too little.
I just bought another strip with a 15' cord as some of the 10' strips are stretched a little "tight" and I want the flexibility.

not saying GE isnt good but Haier owns GE as of like 10 yrs ago. So GE is not the GE of yesteryear. Just a division of a large Chinese company now.

If I'm using the strip for stuff that's going to be plugged in 24/7 and I actually care about (TV, receiver, storage array, etc.), I'm getting Tripp-Lite metal boxes or APC UPSs.
If I'm using the strip for stuff that is either only plugged in intermittently or it wouldn't be awful to replace (nightstand, next to couch, etc.), I'm getting Anker. Little features like flat lead plugs/cords and good plug spacing on the units themselves are just nice.
FWIW, I've been using this as my bedside charger since Nov and like it. I prefer slower charging for most scenarios to put less stress on the batteries, and anything that's plugged into it will be there overnight anyway.

But you also get 2 more AC ports.
Definitely worth another $4 to me, though.
