This is tempting, but I got burned by Elegoo on the Neptune 3, when they released the Neptune 3 Pro 6 months later and all firmware updates on the 3 stopped entirely. The Marlin and Klipper community never had an officially supported config (it's been a while since I checked) due to garbage documentation of the board they used.

Lots of people raised this issue on Reddit, Facebook etc, and Elegoo pretty much said too bad.

Hard for me to trust initial releases after that, especially when a lot of "reviews" thus far are from paid YouTubers.

Just my 2 cents.

This is not a resin printer; it's a FDM printer that uses rolls of filament. Here is a link that explains the differences. [formlabs.com]

I found you can use promo code SASE10 to take off another $10. Helps take the shipping cost down.

What do these things do?

Which things? Dryers or 3d printers in general?

Looks comparable to the P1S from Bambu which will cost twice as much.
If this printer is as good as the specs say it is, it is an AMAZING price.
The question, of course, is, is it as consistent and reliable as a P1S? It's a preorder and nobody knows until people get it in the wild and spend months using them.

The price on this is pretty damn good. Ordered one with 5 spools of CF filament. I was also looking at the Anycubic Kobra S1 Combo for $599. The Anycubic makes it unclear if it uses hardened steel components for more exotic filaments. Still might order one anyway, or maybe the MAX combo.

Can I print a 9mm lower with this? I work for shadow systems and we do a lot of research on frame design.

I've got a creality k1 that I have modified with the unicorn hotend and camera upgrades. Wondering if this would be better. I've enjoyed the k1 for the most part. The bed could be flatter, but I've figured out some ways to improve that with adjustments and some tape. It was a big upgrade in speed over my printer that was a few years old.

It's the normal price not a deal. But it is an awesome printer, just remember it's a preorder for the next available batch to be shipped around June

There are many who have received it already. There do seem to be some kinks based on what I've read on Facebook/Reddit from people who have received it. Fortunately it seems these are kinks that can be fixed via firmware updates and not hardware issues. Elegoo seems to be getting the feedback and I imagine they are working on firmware updates. Mine is scheduled to be delivered in the "before Apr 30th" batch, so hopefully the updates will be in place when I receive it.

I assume it'll end up fine, but we don't actually know that for sure.
Meanwhile, my P1S has 3310 hours printing with minimal issues and my X1C is at 5387.
There's a lot of printers out there that look good on paper, but utterly fail to deliver.
Will that be the case on this? Well, that's the gamble. That's my entire point.

If they can deliver P1S quality for $300 (preorder, I'm gonna guess future cost is $350 or $400) that puts ENORMOUS pressure on Bambu to both lower prices and stop trying to make the wall on their garden even higher.

It's a pre-order so it's the pre-order price. Do you see something that I don't?

They're selling out in waves. So some people ordered and get an April delivery date. If you order now, you're getting a June delivery date. Presumably those will run out and then it'll be July deliveries, etc.

I ordered on the first day and it already said June even then. Hopefully they don't have a bunch of quality issues trying to push so many out the door.

This is a really good deal - the better deal is the Centauri for $199. If you plan to print with mostly PLA, there's no reason to need the enclosure and IMHO the camera is a gimmick. I own elegoo products in my print farm already and trust the brand. I'm seriously considering buying 12 of the Centauri to replace about 40 Ender 3s. EDIT: In for 6!

I'll disagree on the enclosure. For one, as people get into it more, they may want to print materials that benefit from an enclosure. But also, as we learn more about the off-gasing and nanoparticles given off by printing and how those affect us, an enclosure can keep some of that inside so a small filter can trap them. Just like resin safety is important, I'm really considering filtration part of FDM safety/PPE for the future.

It's only says pre order because they don't have enough stock. That is the normal price, it was released for normal sale last week but sold out so they call it a pre.order due to not having stock. The price is the retail price. It's just selling allot because of the quality for the price is amazing
