This is tempting, but I got burned by Elegoo on the Neptune 3, when they released the Neptune 3 Pro 6 months later and all firmware updates on the 3 stopped entirely. The Marlin and Klipper community never had an officially supported config (it's been a while since I checked) due to garbage documentation of the board they used.

Lots of people raised this issue on Reddit, Facebook etc, and Elegoo pretty much said too bad.

Hard for me to trust initial releases after that, especially when a lot of "reviews" thus far are from paid YouTubers.

Just my 2 cents.
This is not a resin printer; it's a FDM printer that uses rolls of filament. Here is a link that explains the differences. [formlabs.com]
I found you can use promo code SASE10 to take off another $10. Helps take the shipping cost down.

How does this work with tariffs for preorders? Are they losing money?

This. Because of the date of the charge, you can't refund via PayPal. I'm sure we'll be subject to an increase in price, but will we be able to cancel for a refund?

They paused sales on the regular Centauri ("sold out") because there was probably close to $0 profit margin on that to begin with, but the Carbon at $100 more could be situated well enough that they absorb the extra cost to maintain goodwill with customers. They could have included terms for import duties/taxes in the sales contract for US buyers in order to place that burden on customers but failed to do so it seems, so their options are either eat the cost or cancel orders. There's still credit card charge-backs they can face in future for failing to deliver if they hold shipments hostage. They currently import in bulk to US warehouse I think so it's very unlikely you will get a personal duties charge forwarded to you (but that is a dirty strategy some companies could take).

I've been using mine for about 3 weeks heavily. I have not had any real issues. There were some initial issue of glass doors coming broken and with the bed not leveling without doing some "maintenance" but all the new shipments are packaged better and the bed leveling issue was fixed (I got mine from the newer "fixed" shipments).

The only issues I had was when I finished a roll mid print, the nozzle just kept printing as if there was still filament there but it didn't happen the next time.

It was an adjustment with the P1S being the only printer I've used prior. I really do miss not having an app to monitor my prints remotely or even getting a notification when my print is complete. I also grew accustomed to using an AMS, but elegoo should be releasing one mid year. It does seem to print faster than my P1S and being that most of my filament is Elegoo it already has the Elegoo filaments dialed in perfectly. My biggest annoyance is that when you finish a print, you have to manually click "print complete" on the printer screen or you can't start your next print - I imagine that will be changed with a firmware update.

Also, the lighting is awful, and I mean really bad. I printed a riser and attached a light bar to it which helped. There are rumors that the lighting will be enhanced in future printer runs, but I haven't seen anything concrete on that.

I am a printing noob (only been printing for about 6 months or so) but have put in a lot of printing hours lol. However, if you do have any more questions on the Centauri Carbon, I will do my best to answer.

did you say that it prints faster than your P1S? 🤯

I am currently using the BBL A1 Combo and interested getting a coreXY enclosed printer for the sole purpose of printing ABS/ABS/CF filaments for functional parts. Most likely won't be getting AMS for the enclosed printer since I already have my A1 to print aesthetic color prints.

After owning both, would you recommend CC over P1S as the second printer for the sole purpose of mentioned above? the savings is like so substantial. 741$ total after tax for the P1S (no AMS) vs. the CC of 319$ w/ no tax. I am also a newbie only printing since Dec.2024 and absolutely love it (1700+ hours and counting). Now that I've been tinkering with the A1 after a clogged nozzle and changing out feeding funnel system for AMS Lite, and few other parts, I feel like I am more familiar with the printing world but by no means a tinkering expert.

My main concern is the risk that comes with having to do a lot part replace or modifying any G-code/firmware which I am not familiar with. Does Elegoo offer wiki or any instructions if things break? Do they have good customer service?
Looking forward to your reply.

I have not done any hardcore testing but it does seem to print faster than the P1S.

If you don't need remote printing or monitoring, while I don't know your budget, I'd go with the Elegoo keeping the few things below in mind.

The footprint of the Elegoo is larger (see attached photo next to my P1s). There is no app for remote monitoring / printing (I hope the make one). Parts are not as readily available as the P1S, all though hopefully that will change as the Elegoo is still new).

You can use your Bambu plates which is a big plus.

I can't really comment on their customer service as I haven't needed it yet for the printer. I did have a bad spool once and they sent me a knew one after asking a few questions. Expect a day for them to reply to each email though as they are in China.

yea, 1 day is about right, Bambu customer service is sometimes 2 days or more even. I had the pricing wrong it WAS 723$ but as of this morning for the US, it is NOW $776. 🤣

so the difference is 457$. Which means I can now buy 2 CC and have 136$ left over.

Has anyone gotten their printer in the last few days? I'm curious what order numbers they are shipping at to get a better idea of how far out my wait time is.
Also kinda curious if they are shipping them at all given the 125% tariff.

For 125% tariff, the customer pays the tariff. That's us. We will have to pay an additional $375 dollars on that $300 printer UNLESS they ship from a US warehouse where we will pay $0 tariff.

Do you need to buy or add the extruder for 19.99?

It's always good to have a spare in your parts bin, just to be safe.

But... most of us already paid the full price. Now they are simply delivering it. No money being exchanged.

That's not how tariffs work. When the package comes into the US from China the shipping carrier will attach a bill to your package and then email or mail your that bill. It will say write us a check and then we will ship your item. Elegoo having a US warehouse does not exempt them. The items have to be in the US BEFORE the tariffs come into effect.

I think it says shipping from US warehouse. Should we still pay for tariffs?

We won't have to pay tariff. Since the US warehouse that received the shipment of printers has already paid the tariff. The tariff is paid when the printer is picked up at US port.

The US Warehouse would pay the 145% tariff when they receive shipment, then deliver them to us at the original price we paid. They'd be selling them at a loss.
