I played AOE2 when I was a kid, but skipped this title. Is this same caliber?

NavyFed doesn't charge for currency exchange so the UK site ended up being slightly cheaper at $25.91 for premium.

Better game honestly. It's kind of like if AOE and Starcraft had a baby. 3 very different factions are incredibly balanced and focused on various antiquity mythology.

I couldn't ever get into AOE back in the day, I wanted either wanted Civ type (turn based) games, or RTS like Starcraft/Red Alert etc. Now I am one of "The Olds" and don't really love RTS any more.

Check this out = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7dmMfud4cI

So If you're a fan of RTS stuff like AOE and this spinoff, you might find this enjoyable. But this one is not for me.

I agree with this and would add in Warcraft due to the power ups for the "hero" type units.

Looks like the expansions cost $20 each, first one coming out in about a week. Seems like a good idea to get the premium edition if you think you'll want to play the new faction/campaign in the dlc.

Similar. It seems like folks are split. I have both, this one is a bit more layered due to factors such a mythological powers and special units that you can only have one of.

The single skirmishes are not as good IMO because there are some easy hacks (build walls, get 4 roaming volcano monsters, and no one can take you down) …

But the campaign is one of the most fun games I've ever played.
