My netgear nighthawk router has been giving me issues especially after reboot and connecting again. through xfinity router. I've read views for this tplink and a good amount have it stop working after a couple months of use. Any opinions?

TP Link makes a number of nice products, this included, but there is uncertainty around whether they'll be allowed to continue in the USA so I would go with the Asus or another brand to be safe. Ignoring that, this is from Costco so there is that peace of mind.

Can you use this TP LINK router and combine them with pods for better connection? Or is not worth it?

The Linksys LN1301 and similar deals that were posted here the past few weeks are better routers. Some of them were mesh systems and all were less than the cost of this.

Keep in mind that those complaints are likely small numbers compared to the large total number sold and there are always some defects in any consumer electronic product line.

No, PODS are for moving and storage.

For those with a 2.5 backend or expecting to move to one do note "Premium 2.5 Gbps WAN/LAN Ports" is a bit misleading with the whole plural thing as there is only a single 2.5 Port all the rest of the ports are 1Gb. Otherwise a totally decent router at a good price for those that don't need more than a gig to wired devices.
