Interesting, the phonearena article is assuming it will be QCI 9 regardless of how much you use, but the fine print on Mint's site has been updated to say after 35G you may be throttled if there is congestion, implying up to 35G is higher priority.

I'm guessing there may be like a 2 stage approach, all plans are QCI 9 as always but instead of applying a throttle of 512K like before when you hit 40G, they're using some form of dynamic throttle after 35G, which hopefully won't result in as bad of an experience as the 512K.

Time will tell I guess.

I'm liking US mobile more and more, however I believe their prioritized/QCI 8 data is only on the Verizon SIM. Unfortunately Verizon is junk where I live, I suspect their T-Mobile would be pretty much identical to Mint.

Anybody know if you could activate a SIM card with an unlimited plan and use in a 5g gateway for home internet? Looks like data prioritization may not be the best.

"It's also important to mention that since Mint Mobile removed the data cap, it no longer matters whether a customer has used 20 GB or 100 GB of data. They will still experience slower speeds during congested periods, which is a bit odd."

Can be done if you have a router with USB ports that supports open source firmware like DD-WRT or OpenWRT.

Mint Mobile will now remove the data cap on its unlimited plan, making it even better value.
The plan was previously capped at 35GB, with reduced data rates for going over.

Hotspot still limited to 10gb and video throttle remains at 480p quality.

I found you can easily get higher quality video by using VPN.

What are some good plans for 4 or 5 phones, unlimited data, some hotspot. Currently on Cricket paying $100 for 4 lines.

Cricket is still decent if you prefer at&t ntwk. If you like verizon, then Total has a good deal for single or multiline.

Check the new plans on Dark Star (ATT), apparently truly unlimited with priority.
