best option is Ryzen 7 8700G which will give you a very balanced combination of CPU performance, good integrated Graphics and Power consumption. If you are planning to add a dedicated GPU using external OCulink or TB4 eGPU enclosure or using a lot of faster storage ad gaming on integrated GPU is less of a priority then Ryzen 7 7700 (Non-X) /Ryzen 7-9700X for storage usage and Ryzen 7 7800X3D/ 9800X3D for gaming usage.
Don't go past more than 8 Core CPUs.

It is not a case or chassis, it is a barebone and there is a difference between them. Consider it as the motherboard + Ports + Case built into a package. Similar concept like Asrock Deskmini.

This also include power supply but it limited the desktop CPU up to 100W TDP. And either use CPU will built-in graphic APU or need to use external graphic card which may lose some performance using Oculink.
So pretty much this is just for building a low end desktop PC

While other Desktop barebone may give you option for better CPU and internal video card, etc.

What? You don't like the IS 500?

Anyway, you have to look at the form factor... You aren't going to cool a 225w tdp cpu in a case this small. This case would be perfect for an 8700g or 8600g. This would be plenty of computer for most folks, and would probably also be an excellent computer for a batocera drive with 780m graphics. AM5 is still pretty young, and I would expect more APUs down the line. I have an AM4 5700g, and I am currently waiting on the ASRock deskmeet x300 to go on sale. If I didn't already have that APU I would love one of these and an 8600g.

thanks for the info. checked on amazon and it looks like about another $250 so total for a decent config $213 + 250 + $100 for ram and small SSD I'm at around $550 _600 for the computer, is that all I would need?

would that be a good value? Thanks Smilie
