Did you register the card? How was hacker able to get the billing zip code correct? Actually, you have to register the card to be able to have valid zip code. Unless Google pay doesn't require a billing zip code, I don't see how the hackers can hack this type of prepaid card.
I'm not the poster but do know that registration is optional and best practice is to do so ASAP. Without registration they can use the card anywhere online that doesn't require the 3 digit code. I am mad that these sites have not been forced to get that info. They might even have a script to keep trying until they crack the security code.

Certainly a better deal at OD, but only able to do it once (and btw, best practice is on 2X $200) at my very security-conscious store. Staples has the limit of 9. More scaleable.
what is this deal with OD? Can you please elucidate?

They are much more sporadic than the Staples no-fee offers. They don't get posted here often.
Just like the poster mentioned, when they happen you get $15 off for a purchase of $300+ of (typically)Visa GCs, or whatever the deal is running for when it happens. I can't recall it running for MCs at OD.
After fees, you make a couple of dollars net, instead of no fee/break even like these Staples deals.

Edited...
I just learned that this post was outdated. It's been a while since I used OD for this deal. Now the fee has gone up and in order to make (not lose) money at OD you need to buy 3, 6, or 9 cards in your transaction. Fee is now $7.95 per card.

They state a 10 card limit but your store may only allow a lesser quantity and my store only allows one transaction per day.
At OD, you will likely be limited to 2 cards (1 offer) per day. So the cost of driving and your time is higher.

This is because OD can be very fraud avers and does not let you scale this up to do like Staples does with their limit of 9 cards. If you do not have a 5% back CC, all of these deals are very limited in value anyway. Why take any fraud risk for nothing or a couple of dollars??At OD, you will likely be limited to 2 cards (1 offer) per day. So the cost of driving and your time is higher.
The OD deal sounds even sweeter! thanks for the explanation!

Yes for those who cannot get 5% cashback on their CC and only want to do $300 of GCs. Better still for those who are close enough to repeat daily to keep their cost down. I have not done the fee cost math lately but it is still about a couple of dollars profit range. Be sure to register any you get if not used immediately.

They do not put out a weekly ad. I am not sure how word gets out. Hopefully, someone can chime in about that.

Yes. I have Property Taxes due. Gonna pay the whole year. Using as Debit once I assign PINs and only a 1% fee to pay by phone.
wow, my town charges a 3% fee for debit cards.

would like someone to challenge the legality of it, since other businesses cannot surcharge for debit card purchases.

I was surprised while paying it all yesterday that they did not ask me for PINs. 20 plus cards took a long time on the phone to process because for each one, they had to read their standard speech about terms and get my approval on a recorded secure line. They charged 1% per card use so I could put $198.02 on each $200 card making it come out to $200.00 each after the fee. I was hoping like you that there would be no fees for using them as Debit.
These cards state to use as charge on them but can easily be used as debit, once you assign a PIN to them. Had I told them to use as credit, I believe the fee would have been 3% but I did not ask on this call. I asked the other day when I was doing my reconnaissance about a week back.

Thanks! Is it easy to set PIN? I see there are issues with that.

Easy to register/and or set a PIN online for MCs. Just look on the back top of the card for the website.

Apologies...
I just learned that my previous post was outdated. I will edit it. It's been awhile since I used OD for this deal. Now the fee has gone up and in order to make (not lose) money at OD you need to buy 3, 6, or 9 cards in your transaction. Fee is now $7.95 per card.

They state a 10 card limit but your store may only allow a lesser quantity and my store only allows one transaction per day.
