Edited: BUT the Amex option if you already have one is more likely to trigger a clawback, or worse from my latest reading.
Whomever gave a TD for "Not a good price" just does not know better.

Which Amex card gives 5%?
Edit...
I have read that Amex has been much more averse lately to using for massive GC spending, so be careful. I have not really used it on a large scale.

FAQ's:
- No, you cannot use Staples GC's to purchase these.
- No, these do not count towards your spend requirements for a premier membership.
- No, these do not earn you any Staples rewards.
- No, you cannot use coupons/ rewards to purchase these GC's.
- Yes, you can split payment between multiple cards (if your cashier permits it) YMMV
- The limit of 8 may or may not be enforced depending on your store/ cashier. YMMV
- Why is this a deal? Some members have CC's that earn 5% CB at office supply stores (INK and Amex Simply Cash). Others need to meet minimum CC spend.
- What if my store doesn't accept payment with a CC? Your store likely has had issues with fraud and it is managers discretion on what payment they will accept.
- Other chase cards may have special offers for Staples ($ limited). Check your chase account under chase offers.
Is there any reason to use the Amex over the chase? I have the amex grandfathered simply cash card as well as the chase 5%(office supply) ink and reserve.

How i use these cards:
1. Mostly at Costco
2. Utilities' bills
3. Auto Insurance
It's good to spend on SUB.

Certainly a better deal at OD, if you can do it right and if the store allows you to.
I'm only allowed to do one transaction per day for these at my store. YMMV.
BTW,for OD, the best practice with the latest fee increases is multiples of 3X $200 cards. The fee is $7.95 per card so for 3 is $23.85 fees, but $30 off gives you $6.15 profit, plus your 5% if you use Chase INK.
You'd lose money if you do less than 3X $200 cards. I just read they hard cap you at 10, So 9 would be the most earnings in one transaction, but doing 6 or 9 might or might not not be allowed by your store's particular manager.
They also mention that Amex is very sensitive about big spending on GCs. Read more on the site...
