I'm not exactly sure you know what the word "useless" means.

I'm genuinely curious to know what useful means to you in 2025. I'm not trying to be a dick here. I really want to know if this deal is worth the money or not.

These are 2020 release low end "budget" spec models. Worth the pickup if you don't have anything and aren't looking to doo much in terms of needing computing power but still overpriced if you're looking for a word processing/streaming machine. These are 5yo basic computing machines. You could get a non Apple branded computer with the same use in mind for cheaper.

I see your point, and I agree with it. For the use cases you've mentioned, yes this does seem overpriced.

What computer would you recommend with a comparable or better display, a comparable trackpad and comparable battery life? I am looking for a secondary computer, something I can sit on the couch with while watching TV. Every windows machine I see has massive compromises. I have had endless Chromebooks and I love them, but they are almost all built like shit. The MacBook M1 seems to be a perfect compromise of performance and battery life.
