And this about external MIMO antennas:
https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=
I just got the first 4x4 MIMO antenna in the post above with the 1 meter cable and it works fine.
The shorter the cable the less signal loss. The 3 meter cable is not required here.
With the internal antenna the G4AR gets 4 bars inside next to a shut window.
With this external antenna placed about a foot outside the shut window it gets 5 bars, the pings are 19-22, and the speedtest.net speeds are consistently better by a couple of hundred Mbps and sometimes more. It connects to the N41 band, and the 5G cell tower is about 600 feet away.
The highest speeds with the external antenna have been around 800Mbps-850Mbps with consistent speeds of around 500-600Mbps +/-.
Of course the speedtest.net speeds depend on the server it connects to for the test, the time of day, the 5G cell tower distance, etc.
For the price, this external antenna is worth it, about $16 shipped. It takes a couple of weeks to get it.
The T-Mo external antenna is around $100 and the Waveform antennas are a few hundred $$$$. Other 4x4 MIMO 5G antennas are similarly expensive.
There is the other cheaper 2x2 MIMO SMA Male with 1.5 meter cable antenna in the post above that may also work but have not tried it.
There are Youtube videos on the T-Mo and Waveform antennas but they may be better in out in the country areas with the 5G cell towers further away.

You're saying you got THIS one?

May be true for competitive gaming but I've had no issues with streaming or zoom calls etc.
Some streaming services can have issues if you live in a congested area because the router keeps changing out ip address a lot. If you're not a heavy data user, it's a good plan for single family households.

Again, please note that speedtest.net speeds depend on many variables as stated above, one of which is the 5G signal jumping around different 5G cell towers, and that not all towers are active all the time depending on maintenance.
For instance, in a large city there may be half a dozen 5G cellular towers within a 3 block radius.
The Opensignal app has a map of the T-Mobile cellular towers.
Speedtest.net speeds also depend on the device used. An S25 cellphone will give much better speed than an older generation cell phone.
Similarly with a computer and its hard wired ethernet and Wi-Fi modem, and the speeds tested on each will differ.
And that's a LOT of streaming using quite a few devices in the household!
Yep, did it the same day I activated. I saw that my bill says my billing period starts when the gateway was *shipped* rather than activated, so wasn't sure if it was 60 days from then or not
Regardless, I'm assuming they prorate, so a few days after is probably best to be safe. Thanks!
