I recommend their internet service. Me and my girlfriend have it and it's not only faster than what we had from Spectrum with better reliability and surprisingly about the same latency. It's perfectly fine for gaming and we're usually streaming on multiple devices and gaming at the same time.

Terms and conditions state "Activate qualifying new Home Internet line between 11/21/24 and 1/15/25".

FWIW I submitted for the December promo and I'm still waiting. 6-8 weeks is what they say. Pretty happy with the service though, I use a Keep Connect and reset every 2 days and have had almost no issues.

When does the 60 days start? I've seen both "from the day the gateway ships" as well as "from the day you activate your gateway" I signed up for this, but it was pretty awful in the middle of the city (work calls dropped multiple times, etc.), so I'll probably cancel as soon as I can
It's either from the day you activate it or from when you sign up for the promotion. I did both on the same day, so I'm not sure which it is.

Thanks! Do you mean sign up for the promotion as in sign up for the service itself or when you go to the rewards website and fill out the form for the $300?

Filling out the form on the website. I think you can do that only after you activate, but it's really easy. Just activate then fill out the rebate form right away.

tempted to give tmobile a try cuz my xfinity been more unstable and disconnecting a lot lately but i would be downgrading speed which i'm not a fan of. also if your house is equipped with a bunch of security cameras like eufy, you would need to resync everything to a new wifi and it's a hassle. not to mention you have to cancel your old service. so it's a lot of work and things to consider before actually making the switch
Connect old router or use new gateway and rename ssid and password to the exact same as the old one (both ssid and password is case sensitive)

Could the same be accomplished with a smart plug?
Keep connect is designed to reboot it when the Internet goes down. Does a smart plug work for a time off and on timer with no Internet connection? But if your Internet is up and your rebooting it then I don't see why it wouldn't. You could even use a old timer and just have it reboot once a day as long as it's not the time it does firmware updates. I think it's supposed to stop after 3am

So, just a heads up, if you stream a lot of content over streaming services or do some completive gaming this is not for you. Most 500mb plans with cable or fiber providers will be more consistent and have no data caps like this plan does. This is a great plan for very rural people or those still stuck on dsl.

See this about T-Mo streaming:

Also see these for more info:

https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=175952923&postcount=173

And this about external MIMO antennas:

https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=175942471&postcount=171

I just got the first 4x4 MIMO antenna in the post above with the 1 meter cable and it works fine.
The shorter the cable the less signal loss. The 3 meter cable is not required here.
With the internal antenna the G4AR gets 4 bars inside next to a shut window.
With this external antenna placed about a foot outside the shut window it gets 5 bars, the pings are 19-22, and the speedtest.net speeds are consistently better by a couple of hundred Mbps and sometimes more. It connects to the N41 band, and the 5G cell tower is about 600 feet away.
The highest speeds with the external antenna have been around 800Mbps-850Mbps with consistent speeds of around 500-600Mbps +/-.
Of course the speedtest.net speeds depend on the server it connects to for the test, the time of day, the 5G cell tower distance, etc.
For the price, this external antenna is worth it, about $16 shipped. It takes a couple of weeks to get it.
The T-Mo external antenna is around $100 and the Waveform antennas are a few hundred $$$$. Other 4x4 MIMO 5G antennas are similarly expensive.
There is the other cheaper 2x2 MIMO SMA Male with 1.5 meter cable antenna in the post above that may also work but have not tried it.

There are Youtube videos on the T-Mo and Waveform antennas but they may be better in out in the country areas with the 5G cell towers further away.

May be true for competitive gaming but I've had no issues with streaming or zoom calls etc.

Some streaming services can have issues if you live in a congested area because the router keeps changing out ip address a lot. If you're not a heavy data user, it's a good plan for single family households.

Yes, this one. It's sold by different stores at different prices. Find the least expensive one.

https://www.aliexpress.us/item/32...S%21%21ABX

Again, please note that speedtest.net speeds depend on many variables as stated above, one of which is the 5G signal jumping around different 5G cell towers, and that not all towers are active all the time depending on maintenance.
For instance, in a large city there may be half a dozen 5G cellular towers within a 3 block radius.
The Opensignal app has a map of the T-Mobile cellular towers.

Speedtest.net speeds also depend on the device used. An S25 cellphone will give much better speed than an older generation cell phone.
Similarly with a computer and its hard wired ethernet and Wi-Fi modem, and the speeds tested on each will differ.

Posters here have posted using several Tb of data per month for years with no problem.
And that's a LOT of streaming using quite a few devices in the household!

Yep, did it the same day I activated. I saw that my bill says my billing period starts when the gateway was *shipped* rather than activated, so wasn't sure if it was 60 days from then or not

Regardless, I'm assuming they prorate, so a few days after is probably best to be safe. Thanks!

What are the maximum devices this can handle and/or allow? Would the speed at my home be similar to if I run a speed test using a 5G T-Mobile cell phone with WiFi turned off?
