We use a Breville Express espresso machine and brew multiple times daily. My go-to coffee is Starbucks Espresso Roast (Whole Bean). I know it's not the best, but it works for us, especially since we don't have many options in town. My wife and I both enjoy it—I can drink it straight as pure espresso, or sometimes I add a little hot water (usually a 50/50 ratio or up to 25% espresso and 75% hot water), then a splash of sweetened creamer (e.g., Natural Bliss). I use a small Le Creuset 3 or 3.5 oz espresso glass, and to me, this makes an excellent cup. I usually have two in the morning and another one or two in the afternoon.
My wife enjoys lattes with double shots and whole milk, typically around 10 oz. She finds this Lavazza blend acceptable, but we both strongly prefer Starbucks. Since Lavazza is a respected brand and labeled as "Espresso," I decided to try it as a substitute. Unfortunately, I won't be ordering it again. It doesn't have the flavor profile I enjoy, and I don't find it pleasant to drink straight. That said, it does create a nice crema and is certainly higher quality than something from a Keurig. I'll finish the bag, but if you're a fan of Starbucks Espresso Roast, this isn't a good substitute in my opinion.
Everyone i spoke to that tried all 3 put this one in 3rd place of those three.
I should note, I haven't tried this exact one. I have Espresso Barista Gran Crema, and Espresso decaf. Both too chocolatey for me.
