The other four items that bring the piece count to 14 include the safety glasses, a throwaway magnifier, and two stands.

I know it's cheap so what's the risk, but these really really suck and are not worth, well, anything, really. You're throwing money away just to end up disappointed with a low-quality facsimile of what you were expecting and hoping for (this is tinder too)

The most fun you will have with this kit is if you have a certain sense of humor and make fun of it later, like hammer puns and also just every few months out of nowhere chuckling and saying "hey remember those awful geodes? wow that was a nightmare, I'm glad i warned those people on slickdeals"

Really settled on this as I surveyed the marketplace for them. I think something like this could be a fun kids party favor, but now I am wondering where I might source something similar (easily bought in bulk online) but actually good.

I did this set with my 8 year old son last month and we both had a lot of fun. About 7 of them were awesome geodes with cool crystals and formations, 3 of them were duds. Much better than I had expected; I had prepared my son for disappointment.
