A similar Streamlight might cost $100.

I have not had a Wurkkos or Sofirn fail and even have many no name generic china lights are still going strong after ten or more years of use and abuse.
Why would I want more expensive when I can have multiple light in various form factors and function where I need them for still significantly less cost than one Streamlight?
Streamlight also seems to want to suck you into proprietary batteries that you can only get from them which I find very weaselly and money grubbing in a world where low cost 18650 is becoming standard.
WK03:
Neutral color temperature
Excellent color rendering
18650 battery (possibly pocketable)
Lightweight for size

TS23:
Lots of output (briefly) for size
Very cool color temperature
Poor color rendering
21700 battery (higher capacity, not pocketable)
Heavy for size

Thanks, that worked.
I have used all these Chinese lights that everyone says is the best. I have over a dozen broken sitting in a drawer in my toolbox.
The people who keep pimping these lights will never use them as much as I do.
If I bought 12 $40 cheap Chinese lights, that is almost $500. I could have bought 3 good Streamlights and backup batteries. Which would actually have a warranty that would be honored. Oh yeah, the warranty on these Chinese lights, well good luck. It's a toss up if they even get back to you.
You know what doesn't break? My Streamlights.
Who do the police and firefighters use for their lights? It isn't some cheap flashlight.
For $20 if I can get a flashlight with Anduril, 90 CRI, magnetic tail, rgb aux, etc..... That's a fantastic deal and the build quality doesn't feel cheap at all. Most people are just walking their dog, working on the car, etc. We aren't trusting these things for emergency responder use.
Just because it isn't for you doesn't mean it isn't for others.
I also have an HD10 and that thing is a great value. So many features in a little light for around $20.
Maybe wurkkos isn't for everyone but I've been impressed as those 2 lights have been my introduction.
I may check out a Sofirn down the road.
As for the light, sounds like you just got a dud. Usually when the product is featureful and the price is relatively low, then QC often suffers. That may be what you are experiencing here.
I have an orange FC11C and it blows away any "grandpa" flashlight with 2 D cells. The 18650 has plenty of juice and turbo (or even just high) provides a LOT of light.
If you want to blind people for a bit, you certainly can.
It's odd that wurkkos isn't answering through all the normal channels, you could try reaching out on reddit, they seem to be active there.
For those who only care about output for the price, it's an okay option.

Then again, anyone with dexterity issues is likely looking at larger flashlights to begin with.

I do find it is odd that so many show up here and lecture the other 99.24% of us as to what we need in top of the line lights to take the kids camping.
The SD community must have one of the largest percentages of firefighters and police anywhere as sometimes the flashlight deals have about 50% or more of users saying what you say.
I do also wonder why such critical emergency personnel have so much free time to come in trash deals for cheap yet very nice lights for the general public that they have no interest in at all. If it is some ego trip or something to show they think themselves above and over the public so high that they get to tell us what to buy I would have to question how well they are psychology fit and trained. I am not worried about the light they carry at this point as I worry that kind of arrogance and authoritarian leaning in an officer can lead to very bad things.

I guess it is up to you if you find value in buying a cheaper item.
When it comes to specific things like flashlights or tools. I give my opinion that it is better to spend just a little bit more to only buy it once.
Has absolutely nothing to do with the rest of what you posted. For me personally, sometimes spending more once is saving money in the long run. That is a good deal.

Of course higher end stuff may be more dependable but we can take that to every deal here. Deal for a Hyundai has the guy that has the money for the Jaguar looking down his nose. The deal for the $100 bike has the guy that bought the $5000 one crowing about how much smarter he is.
It is getting so obnoxious with that kind of stuff that the forums are almost useless as they are full of braggadocio and snootiness from people that must have unlimited resources. Did you ever consider that maybe someone else does not have the money you have? What do you recommend for them? Do you just want to inform them that you are in position with more money to have a nicer light than they can afford? What does that bring to the conversation?
Of course if I hit the skis slopes I rather being sporting the olympic class skis even if my ability may not be up to them and they more than I need but in the end it is waste of money for the majority of people unless you find value in bragging about what you choose to buy.
The vast majority of consumers do not need high end equipment for there needs. We do not buy major league bats or olympic class skis as to spend more is waste of money. The cheaper stuff fits our need perfectly and is the wiser choice.
These lights far surpass anything that was available to the consumer even ten years ago and we can get them $20.
If you have an old Streamlight you have older technology just like someone that has top of the line Windows Vista machine does. Does not matter how much you paid for it or how long the warranty is. You sunk so much up front you are committed to old tech and human nature being wat it is you will be ogling a new model most likely. When I do that costs me $20 and it will cost you much more. Just like an old model car that may have been high end and top of the class at a time things get old and they do not shine as bright as newer and even cheaper models.
You also do not consider the possibility of loss or of doing something stupid that warranty does not cover. If I run the car over my light or drop it off cliff I am out twenty but have another $20 replacement ready to go you are out a $100 and up the creek without a paddle. I take multiple low cost lights on outings and if one the off chance one gets broke or fails I have another. If I wanted to do that with Streamlight it is is going to cost significantly more.
You only consider one factor in a complex equation and think the particular factor you like most important for everybody when that may not be the case. You also argue with straw men as no one said these are better than Streamlight or the right choice for everyone. You are the one that took that hard and wrong position and say your choice is the only right one.

There's also the Wurkkos TS10, which has Anduril 2.0, 90 CRI, RGB aux, and a few other goodies at under $15.

The Wurkkos HD10 is great though, and I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.
