The 2824 is a significantly better blower if you are team red. Overall, the blower can be had everyday for $120 and the chain saw at $270.

This will do great for blowing off decks/patios/driveways, but only fair with leaf blowing in your lawn. If you just need light use, the 3017 will be fine. If you're blowing wet leaves or pine straw, you're going to need more power.
