Iron Claw is one of those great movies that I only want to watch a single time. Really good but emotionally draining. $6 is worth it though, at least for the Blu-ray collection.
This. Very well made movie that is so depressing. If you are looking for a movie to escape reality for a couple hours, Iron Claw is not a good choice.

Iron claw was sadly a big let down. A paint by numbers, Oscar bait drama.

It could have been great, considering the source material, but it was simply meh
Yep, that family store was enough. It didnt need to changed for a movie.

Save your $13 if you have HBO/Max as Civil War is streaming. It's not a great movie and the ending will make you feel like the main character is dumb to not tackle someone to the ground. Also the pacing isn't great.

Edit: Swiss Army Man is very odd but worth a watch.
But what happens when Max is no longer streaming Civil War?

"Iron Claw" has been on my "to watch " list, but after a little price research, I picked up the Blu ray used at a better price.
The others are above my price point right now, new or used.
Civil War led to a long how/what if discussion with my son afterward. Conversations like that justified the moviepass ticket price. I agree with the comment about....

I didn't have any attachment to the characters so it was a once and done film. You could very well enjoy it but I'll never get that time back

Civil War is great especially with how visceral the final act is. The "what kind of American scene" is great too. The movie is focused on the journalists not so much the war between two sides and I think some people have the wrong expectations coming into the film.
Yeah I didn't know what I was getting into watching it and absolutely loved it. I think it was one of the more impactful and excellent movies of the year. If you were looking for a generic action movie you will be disappointed. Its an interesting look at war journalism and how people experience war from all sorts of perspectives. Some in the heat of the battle, some taking advantage of it and profiting, some simply pretending its not happening at all; then there are the journalists trying to capture it. I absolutely loved it.
It is NOT a story based on the current American political theater or making any comment directly upon it.

Civil War fell short because it ignored the deep-rooted, realistic partisan divides that would logically drive such a conflict. Instead of reflecting genuine ideological tensions between liberal and conservative states, it presented an implausible scenario where Texas and California—states with starkly opposing political identities—unite as primary rebel forces. This undermines the film's credibility, as it sidesteps the real social, cultural, and political fractures that could fuel a modern civil war. By avoiding the uncomfortable realities of true partisan divides, the film sacrifices depth and believability for a safer, but ultimately less compelling, narrative. In short, that is why the movie sucked.
You fell short attempting to connect it with the current American political climate which it explicitly was not trying to do. The movie was similarly a terrible reflection on the sugar industry, but who cares as it had nothing to do with that either.

Humm, do you think those wrong expectations could have been caused by the way it was sold?? Looking at the trailer, I'm not sure how anyone could disagree.

In any case, I didn't have a problem with the journalist angle, I did have a problem with how much of the material in this film made zero sense. I could name all the stuff, but this isn't the place. As for the ending, that ending could have taken place in any conflict (and a good amount of the whole film). That's the biggest gripe of mine. It's an ending with everything else sort of manufactured around that idea. Very apparent by the lack of context anything else in this film received.
