Validate is a program ran by the American Medical Association. These Omron cuffs are certified since their readings are pretty accurate compared to the machines we use in the office. Here is the whole list. We generally recommend our patients to buy from this list.

Mine is very accurate at the doctor's office but your blood pressure fluctuates quite a bit you need to get three readings at your doctor's office to get an average - than three readings from your blood pressure monitor to get an average to see how close they may be.
I know that sounds like a lot of work but when I have my doctor take my blood pressure first time it may be 140 / 88 second reading about 2 or 3 minutes apart 118 / 75 with their blood pressure monitor.

An alternative that I also like is the Microlife device, usually around $45 but currently with $9 off at Costco. Not as comfortable for seniors to use as the bulky Omron with the bigger display, but more portable and also great.
Online you see this one on Costco only:

In store in Bay Area they have this one https://www.costcobusin
Use the Costco mobile app and search your nearest warehouse(s) for item # 1268341.
Don't forget to use your FSA card or expense it if you use an FSA account!
Your doctor's office could be reading your blood pressure all wrong

Typically when you walk into a doctors office your BP will be the highest (factors such as walking to the office, anxiety aka white coat hypertension can play a role).
This is why it's generally recommended to never use the 1st data point of elevated Bp on a patient esp if it's higher than usually. The most accurate reading will occur 15 min into your visit when you are calm and sitting.
Make sure the readings with your home machine are done on the same arm with same cuff size.

I found the notes from when I had them check the accuracy, I'm sure you can see why I mentioned my experience with it. (Taken over 30 minutes, but they didn't put the times in the notes.)
Omron: 127/92, 136/85
Doctor's machine: 162/82, 152/86, 160/85
Nurse auscultation: 155/74

The Omron Series 10 comes with an AC adapter, as do many of the other models.
Ideally, there shouldn't be any major variances, so you'll know right away if the batteries you have are starting to go bad.

large cuffs or loose can underestimate but I'm leaning that your device is likely defective

With that said, it's really just a digital offset on these machines, so it won't be much in the way of true accuracy.
The better bet is to get multiple machines and just establish a baseline average, because a brand new machine costs less than professional calibration. This is basically what the Omron monitors with TruRead try to accomplish.
